Informazioni generali
Cephalexin appartiene ad un gruppo di farmaci chiamati antibiotici cefalosporine e viene usato per combattere i batteri presenti nel corpo. Il farmaco agisce interferendo nella formazione delle cellule muro dei batteri, provocandone la rottura, e uccidendo i batteri. Viene usato per il trattamento delle infezioni causate da batteri, tra cui: infezioni delle vie respiratorie, dell'orecchio, della pelle,delle ossa e del tratto urinario.
Indicazioni
La dose prescritta per gli adulti è di 1-4 gr da assumere in dosi separate, ogni 6 o 12 ore, a seconda del tipo di malattia.
Precauzioni
Se siete allergici a Cephalexin,se avete il diabete, se soffrite di malattie al fegato,ai reni o disturbi alla pancia non dovete utilizzare Cephalexin.
Controindicazioni
Prima di iniziare ad usare Cephalexin, si informi il proprio medico se si è allergici a Cephalexin, alle cefalosporine e agli antibiotici beta-lattamasi.e Anche se si soffre di una malattia ai reni, di un disturbo allo stomaco o se si è incinta o si sta allattando.
Possibili effetti collaterali
Il farmaco può causare vertigini, vomito, eruzioni, cefalea, febbre, mal di gola, diminuzione o assenza di urina , urine di colore scuro, conati di vomito, ittero e qualche reazione allergica (eruzioni cutanee, orticaria), debolezza. E' necessario chiamare il medico per un consiglio medico circa gli effetti collaterali.
Interazioni farmacologiche
Prima di utilizzare cefalexina, si informi il medico se si utilizza uno qualsiasi dei seguenti farmaci: anticoagulanti come il warfarin, metformina o probenecid. Si informi il proprio medico anche circa tutti i farmaci da prescrizione o da banco che si usano.
Dose mancata
Prendere la dose dimenticata non appena possibile. Saltare la dose, se è tempo per la dose successiva. Non prendere dosi extra per compensare le dosi dimenticate.
Sovradosaggio
Se si pensa di aver assunto una dose eccessiva del farmaco cercare immediatamente assistenza medica d'emergenza. I sintomi da sovradosaggio sono: stanchezza e debolezza,conati di vomito, diarrea o urina con tracce si sangue.
Conservazione
Conservare il farmaco a temperatura ambiente tra i 59-77 gradi F (15-25 ° C).Conservare lontano da umidità e luce. Tenere fuori dalla portata di bambini ed animali domestici.
