NITROFURANTOINA é um antibiótico. É utilizado para tratar infecções do trato urinário.
O que devo dizer ao meu médico antes de tomar este medicamento?
Ele precisa de saber se tem alguma destas condições:
- anemia
- diabetes
- deficiência glicose-6-fosfato desidrogenase
- doenças renais
- doenças hepáticas
- doenças pulmonares
- outras doenças crónicas
- alguma reacção alérgica ou pouco habitual a nitrofurantoína, outros antibióticos, outros medicamentos, alimentos, corantes ou conservantes
- estar grávida ou a tentar engravidar
- estar a amamentar
Como devo tomar este medicamento?
Tome este medicamento por via oral com um copo de água. Tome este medicamento com comer ou leite. Tome o medicamento em com intervalos regulares. Não tome mais vezes que o prescrito. Não pare de tomar o medicamente excepto se o seu médico recomendar.
Fale com o seu pediatra quanto à utilização deste medicamento em crianças. Cuidados especiais podem ser necessários.
Sobredosagem: Se pensa que poderá ter tomado uma dose superior ao prescrito contacte o Centro de Informação Antivenenos ou os Serviços de Urgência de imediato.
NOTA: Este medicamento é apenas para si. Não o partilhe com outros.
Que fazer se falhei uma toma?
Se falhar uma dose, tome-a assim que puder. Se for quase tempo de tomar a próxima dose, tome só essa dose. Não tome a dobrar nem doses extra.
O que pode interferir com este medicamento?
- antiácidos que contenham trissilicato de magnésio
- probenecida
- antibióticos de quinolona como a ciprofloxacina, a lomefloxacina, o norfloxacino e a ofloxacina
- sulfinpirazona
Esta lista pode não descrever todas as interacções possíveis. Indique ao seu médico todos os medicamentos, ervas, medicamentos de venda livre, ou suplementos alimentares que usa. Diga-lhe também se fuma, se bebe, ou usa drogas ilegais. Alguns destes podem interagir com o seu medicamento.
Que cuidados devo ter enquanto tomar este medicamento?

- pele pálida ou azulada

- hemorragia ou contusões invulgar
- cansaço ou fraqueza invulgar
- olhos ou pele amarelados

- urina escura
- diarreia

- perda de apetite

Onde devo guardar o meu medicamento?
Mantenha-o fora do alcance das crianças.
Guarde-o num local em que a temperatura seja entre 15 e 30 graus C (59 e 86 graus F). Proteja da luz. Mande fora qualquer medicamento não utilizado, após expirar o prazo de validade.
