Combivir (Lamivudine /zidovudine)
Información general
Combivir pertenece a una clase de medicamentos llamados inhibidores de la transcriptasa inversa análogos de nucleósidos (NRTIs). Este producto contiene dos fármacos: lamivudina y zidovudina. Se utiliza para tratar la infección por el VIH o el SIDA. Este medicamento no cura el SIDA y no impide que se transmite a otras personas. Se utiliza en combinación con otros medicamentos anti-VIH para frenar su crecimiento o reproducción del VIH. También parece que ralentiza la destrucción del sistema inmunológico. Este medicamento también puede ser usado para prevenir la infección por el VIH después de tener contacto con el virus.
Instrucciones
Tome Combivir exactamente según lo prescrito por su médico. La dosis recomendada para adultos y adolescentes de 12 años de edad y mayores es de un comprimido (150 mg de lamivudina y 300 mg de zidovudina) dos veces al día. Tome Combivir a la misma hora cada día. Se puede tomarlo con o sin alimentos, con un vaso lleno de agua. Este producto no es para ser utilizado en niños de menos de 30 kilogramos (66 libras).
Precauciones
Antes de tomar Combivir debe hablar con su médico si usted tiene anemia, neutropenia, cualquier otra cuenta sanguínea baja o enfermedad de la sangre, enfermedades del hígado, insuficiencia hepática, cirrosis, hepatitis, enfermedades renales, insuficiencia renal, pancreatitis, depresión de la médula ósea, problemas con su los músculos. Este medicamento puede causar mareos. No conduzca o realice tareas que requieren vigilancia. Limite el consumo de las bebidas alcohólicas. El alcohol puede aumentar el riesgo de problemas del hígado y pancreatitis. Evite el contacto con personas que tienen resfriados, gripe u otras enfermedades contagiosas. Evite tener relaciones sexuales sin protección o compartir agujas, cuchillas de afeitar o cepillos de dientes. De tomar este medicamento no evitará que le pase el VIH a otras personas.
Contraindicaciones
Usted no debe tomar Combivir si usted es alérgico a la lamivudina, zidovudina o a cualquiera de los componentes del medicamento, o si usted tiene en su sangre muy bajo recuento de glóbulos blancos (neutropenia) o muy bajo recuento de glóbulos rojos (anemia). Informe a su médico si está embarazada o amamantando.
Los posibles efectos secundarios
Obtenga ayuda médica de emergencia si usted tiene dolor de cabeza, cansancio, pérdida del apetito, náuseas, vómitos, diarrea, dificultad para dormir, mareos, congestión nasal, tos, dolor de estómago, dolor abdominal, de espalda, sangrado, cambios en las uñas de color, escalofríos, dolor del cuerpo, la gripe síntomas, ictericia (coloración amarillenta de la piel o los ojos), adormecimiento, problemas para dormir (insomnio), secreción o congestión nasal, latidos cardíacos lentos o irregulares, pérdida de apetito, orina oscura. Si usted nota otros efectos no mencionados anteriormente, consulte a su médico.
Interacciones con otros medicamentos
Dígale a su médico acerca de todas las medicinas que usted use, especialmente: doxorubicina, estavudina, tratamientos contra el cáncer, zalcitabina, ganciclovir, interferón-alfa, sulfametoxazol, trimetoprim, ribavirina, fluconazol, metadona, probenecid, ritonavir, zalcitabina, rifapentina. La interacción entre los dos medicamentos no siempre significa que usted debe dejar de tomar uno de ellos. Dígale a su médico sobre todos los medicamentos, de venta libre, y los medicamentos a base de hierbas que está tomando.
Dosis olvidada
Tome la dosis que se ha olvidado tan pronto como sea posible. No tome la dosis olvidada si es la hora para su próxima dosis. No tome más medicina para alcanzar la dosis pasada.
Sobredosis
Si usted piensa que tiene una sobredosis de la medicina debe buscar ayuda médica de inmediato. Los síntomas de sobredosis son náuseas, vómitos, dolor de cabeza, mareos, somnolencia, confusión, convulsiones.
Almacenaje
Guarde el medicamento a temperatura ambiente entre 36-86 grados F (30.2 grados C) lejos de la luz y la humedad. No guarde los medicamentos en el cuarto de baño. Mantenga todos los medicamentos fuera del alcance de los niños y las mascotas.
