Serevent (Salmeterol)
Informazioni generali
Serevent è usato per prevenire attacchi di asma. Il farmaco agisce rilassando i muscoli delle vie aeree per migliorare la respirazione. Non uilizzare il farmaco per trattare un attacco d'asma una volta che è già iniziato. Serevent è usato anche per curare le malattie polmonari croniche ostruttive che coinvolgono l'enfisema e la bronchite cronica. Serevent è un broncodilatatore.
Indicazioni
Utilizzare il farmaco esattamente come è stato prescritto dal proprio medico. Assumere Serevent due volte al giorno. Lasciare passare almeno 12 ore prima di utilizzare nuovamente il farmaco. La dose raccomandata dipende dalla cura per l'asma effettuata precedentemente. Agitare il farmaco prima di ogni aspirazione e utilizzare l'inalatore in posizione orizzontale. Fare attenzione che il farmaco non venga a contatto con gli occhi.
Precauzioni
Consultare il proprio medico se il farmaco non sembra funzionare nella cura o nella prevenzione dell'attacco o se si presenta un attacco d'asma più pericoloso del solito. In questo caso potrebbero essere necessarie 4 o più inalazioni durante le 24 ore per due o più giorni.
Controindicazioni
Prima di iniziare il trattamento con Serevent informare il medico se si hanno reazioni allergiche a uno qualsiasi dei componenti del farmaco.
Possibili effetti collaterali
Il farmaco può causare allergie, dolore toracico, battito cardiaco irregolare, tremore, aigtazione, eruzioni cutanee, debolezza muscolare o peggioramento dei sintomi di asma, mal di testa, vomito, conati di vomito e disturbi del ventre. Si informi il proprio medico su eventuali effetti collaterali insoliti o che vi recano particolare disturbo.
Interazioni farmacologiche
Serevent può interagire medicine che liberano le vie aree, farmaci per l'ipertensione, inibitori della MAO, antidepressivi triciclici, diuretici. Si noti inoltre che l'interazione fra due farmaci non necessariamente deve portare ad una sospensione dell'utilizzo di uno dei due farmaci. Informare il medico circa tutti i farmaci in uso.
Dose mancata
Prendere la dose dimenticata non appena possibile. Saltare la dose, se è tempo per la dose successiva. Non prendere dosi extra per compensare le dosi dimenticate.
Sovradosaggio
Se si pensa di aver assunto una dose eccessiva del farmaco cercare immediatamente assistenza medica d'emergenza. I sintomi da sovradosaggio sono:insonnia, aritmia, dolore toracico, secchezza delle fauci o capogiri.
Conservazione
Conservare i farmaci a temperatura ambiente tra i 59-77 gradi F (15-25 gradi C). Conservare lontano da umidità e luce. Tenere fuori dalla portata di bambini ed animali domestici.
