Informations générales
Singulair appartient au groupe de médicaments appelés anti-leucotriènes. L'ingrédient actif de Singulair est montélukast sodique. C'est un médicament d'ordonnance utilisé pour traiter l'asthme et la rhinite allergique.
Posologie
Utilisez Singulair exactement comme il a été prescrit pour optimiser résultats du traitement. N’écrasez pas, ne mâchez pas ou ne cassez pas le comprimé. Utilisez ce médicament avec un verre plein d'eau. La dose recommandée de Singulair pour les adultes et les adolescents âgés de 15 ans est de 10 mg par jour. Pour les enfants de 6 à 14 ans, la dose est de 5 mg une fois par jour. Pour les enfants de 2 à 5 ans, la posologie recommandée de Singulair est de 4 mg une fois par jour. Pour les enfants âgés de 6 à 23 mois, la dose recommandée est d'un paquet de granulés oraux de Singulair (4 mg) une fois par jour.
Précautions
N’utilisez pas Singulair pour traiter une crise d'asthme. Il n'est pas recommandé de prendre le médicament si vous êtes enceinte ou allaitez ou de l’administrer aux enfants de moins de 6 ans.
Contre-indications
Les patients qui ont une allergie à l’un des composants de ce médicament ne peuvent pas utiliser Singulair.
Effets secondaires possibles
Le médicament peut provoquer l'urticaire, des maux de tête, le gonflement de votre visage, des lèvres,de la langue, des engourdissements, des tremblements, des changements d'humeur ou de comportement, une dépression, des maux d'estomac, une diarrhée. Si vous rencontrez l'un des effets secondaires énumérés ci-dessus, vous devriez cesser de prendre Singulair et de consulter votre médecin immédiatement.
Interaction des médicaments
Singulair peut interagir avec: le nitroprussiate, les nitrates, le cisapride, le sildénafil, des médicaments contre l’hypertension, des médicaments contre le VIH et le SIDA, le fluconazole, l’itraconazole, le kétoconazole. Notez que l'interaction entre deux médicaments ne signifie pas toujours ce que vous devez cesser de prendre l'un d'eux.
Omission de dose
Prenez la dose oubliée dès que possible. Sautez-la s'il est temps pour votre prochaine dose. Ne prenez pas de doses supplémentaires pour compenser la dose oubliée.
Surdosage
Si vous pensez que vous avez une surdose de ce médicament cherchez de l’aide médicale d'urgence immédiatement. Les symptômes de surdose sont des maux d'estomac, la soif, la contraction musculaire.
Conservation
Conservez le médicament à la température ambiante entre 59-77 degrés F (15-25 degrés C) loin de la lumière et de l'humidité. Ne conservez pas le médicament dans la salle de bain. Conservez tous les médicaments hors de portée des enfants et des animaux domestiques.
