Nolvadex (Tamoxifen)
Informations générales
Nolvadex appartient au groupe des anti-œstrogènes. Le médicament est prescrit pour le traitement du cancer du sein. Ce type de médicament agit comme un antagoniste des récepteurs des œstrogènes et inhibe entièrement l'action des œstrogènes sur les tumeurs causées par cette hormone. En bloquant les oestrogènes, Nolvadex arrête la croissance des tumeurs. Nolvadex combat le cancer qui s'est propagé à d'autres parties du corps. Il peut être utilisé par les femmes présentant un haut risque de cancer du sein et par les femmes présentant un carcinome canalaire in situ - CCIS (après intervention chirurgicale et radiothérapie) pour diminuer le risque de développer un cancer du sein.
Posologie
Il est recommandé de prendre le médicament suivant la prescription de votre médecin. Prenez-le avec un grand verre d'eau. N’excédez pas la dose prescrite.
Précautions
Lors d’un traitement au Nolvadex, le patient doit être sous surveillance concernant les saignements vaginaux anormaux, des changements dans les menstruations, une modification des pertes vaginales ou des douleurs pelviennes ou de pression. Le médicament peut augmenter le risque de développer un cancer endométrial.
Contre-indications
Les femmes enceintes et celles en période d’allaitement au sein et les patients présentant une hypersensibilité au Nolvadex doivent éviter d’utiliser le médicament. Les patients atteints de maladies oculaires, d'hyperlipidémie, de leucopénie, de thrombocytopénie, d'hypercalcémie, de thrombophlébite grave, et de thromboembolie doivent faire l’objet de suivi.
Effets secondaires
Les effets secondaires fréquents sont des bouffées de chaleur, des nausées, des vomissements, une prise de poids, des menstruations anormales.
Interaction des médicaments
Ce médicament pourrait provoquer des résultats anomaux lors des tests de foie et de sang, un suivi régulier des effets secondaires causés par Nolvadex est nécessaire. En cas d’apparition d’un signe d'effet secondaire, le patient devrait consulter son médecin.
Omission de dose
Prenez la dose omise dès que possible. S'il est presque l’heure de la prochaine dose, il suffit de sauter la dose omise et de revenir à votre horaire de prise habituel.
Surdosage
Si vous pensez avoir pris une surdose de ce médicament, demandez de l’aide médicale d'urgence immédiatement.
Conservation
Conservez le médicament à la température ambiante entre 20-25 °C (68-77 °F).
