Toprol Xl (Metoprolol)
Informazioni generali
Toprol Xl fa parte del gruppo di farmaci chiamati beta-bloccanti. I beta-bloccanti influiscono sul cuore e sulla circolazione. È indicato per il trattamento dell'angina (dolore al petto) causata da malattie coronariche e dall'ipertensione (pressione alta). Viene anche usato per trattare o prevenire infarto, emicrania e alcuni tipi di tremori.
Indicazioni
Prendere il farmaco esattamente come prescritto dal medico. Il medicinale dovrebbe essere assunto con del cibo ogni giorno alla stessa ora. Non interrompere l'assunzione di Toprol Xl senza prima averne parlato con il medico. La massima dose giornaliera di Toprol Xl è di 400 mg. Il medico può aumentare o diminuire la dose, se ritenuto opportuno.
Precauzioni
Informare il medico di tutti i farmaci che si stanno contemporaneamente assumendo comprese tutte le prescrizioni mediche, i medicinali da banco, antiacidi, vitamine e gli integratori a base di erbe. In caso di intervento chirurgico è necessario informare il chirurgo che si seguendo un trattamento basato sull’assunzione del farmaco Toprol Xl. Bere alcol può aumentare gli effetti collaterali di Toprol Xl.
Controindicazioni
Non usare Toprol Xl se si è allergici e se si soffre di malattie cardiache, malattie renali e diabete. Informare il medico in caso di gravidanza, se si sta cercando di rimanere incinta o in caso di allattamento.
Possibili effetti collaterali
Gli effetti indesiderati più comuni comprendono: stanchezza, diarrea e battito del cuore rallentato. Altri effetti collaterali comuni possono essere: mancanza di respiro, secchezza della bocca, orticaria, prurito, nausea, dolore al petto e sensazione di testa vuota. Cercare immediatamente assistenza medica se si presentano anche solo una delle problematiche sopra elencate.
Interazioni farmacologiche
Toprol Xl può interagire con: alfa bloccanti (alfuzosina, doxazosina, fentolamina, ecc), calcio-antagonisti (Verapamil, nifedipina, felodipina, ecc) che possono provocare una pressione sanguigna pericolosamente bassa, gli antidepressivi (citalopram, fluoxetina, tranilcipromina, ecc .), i farmaci aritmia (lidocaina, disopiramide, chinidina), farmaci anti-infiammatori non steroidei (FANS): ibuprofene, Meloxicam, Diclofenac. I FANS possono diminuire la pressione del sangue effettuata da Toprol Xl.
Dose mancata
Assumere la dose dimenticata non appena possibile. Se è quasi ora della dose successiva basta non assumerla e tornare ad assumere il farmaco come previsto. Non prendere una dose extra del medicinale per compensare la dose dimenticata.
Overdose
Se si pensa di avere assunto un sovradosaggio del farmaco cercare immediatamente assistenza medica. I sintomi di sovradosaggio possono essere: nausea, vomito, ipotensione, ipoglicemia e anomalie del ritmo cardiaco.
Conservazione
Conservare il farmaco a temperatura ambiente tra i 15-30 gradi °C (59-86 gradi F) lontano dalla luce e dall'umidità. Conservare in un contenitore stretto.
