Información general

Instrucciones
Tome Vasotec exactamente como se lo indique su médico. Tome cada dosis con un vaso lleno de agua con o sin alimentos. Los límites recomendados para la dosis de 2,5 mg una vez al día a 20 mg dos veces al día. Su médico puede en ocasiones cambiar su dosis para asegurarse de obtener los mejores resultados de esta medicina.
Precauciones
Antes de tomar Vasotec digale a su médico si usted tiene diabetes, enfermedad renal o hepática, enfermedades del corazón, síndrome de Marfan, el lupus, la artritis reumatoide. Vasotec puede causar efectos secundarios que perjudiquen su pensar o reacciones. No use sustitutos de la sal o suplementos de potasio. Tenga cuidado si maneja o hace algo que demande se mantenga despierto y alerta. Evite beber alcohol.
Contraindicaciones
No use esta medicina si usted es alérgico a Vasotec o a cualquier inhibidor de la ECA, si esta embarazada o amamantando.
Los posibles efectos secundarios
Busque atención médica de emergencia si tiene desmayos, palidez, urticaria, hinchazón, angioedema, orinar más o menos de lo habitual, dificultad para respirar, latidos cardiacos irregulares, dolor de estómago, ojos o piel amarillentos, dolor en el pecho, síntomas de la gripe, sangrado. Los efectos secundarios de menor gravedad pueden incluir: pérdida de apetito, vómitos, mareos, diarrea, insomnio, dolor de cabeza, tos, náuseas, sequedad de boca.
Interacciones con otros medicamentos
Antes de tomar Vasotec, dígale a su médico si está tomando alguno de los siguientes fármacos: diuréticos (furosemida), litio, medicamentos antidiabéticos (metformina, insulina), suplementos de potasio (K-Dur, Klor-Con), no esteroides anti-inflamatorios las drogas (ketoprofeno, ibuprofeno, diclofenaco), beta-bloqueadores. La interacción entre los dos medicamentos no siempre significa que usted debe dejar de tomar uno de ellos. Dígale a su médico todos los medicamentos, de venta libre-, y los medicamentos a base de hierbas que está tomando.
Dosis olvidada
Tome la dosis que se ha olvidado tan pronto como sea posible. No tome la dosis olvidada si es la hora para su próxima dosis. No tome más medicina para alcanzar la dosis pasada.
Sobredosis
Si usted piensa que tiene una sobredosis de la medicina debe buscar ayuda médica de inmediato. Los síntomas de sobredosis son mareo o desmayo.
Almacenamiento
Guarde el medicamento a temperatura ambiente por debajo de 86 grados F (30 grados C) lejos de la luz y la humedad.
