Información general
Leukeran pertenece al grupo de medicamentos conocidos como antineoplásicos. Contiene clorambucil. Este medicamento actúa impidiendo el crecimiento de células cancerosas al interferir con el ADN material genético, lo cual es necesario para la reproducción de las células. Leukeran se utiliza para tratar ciertos tipos de cáncer (leucemia, linfoma, enfermedad de Hodgkin). Este medicamento también puede ser usada para ciertas enfermedades de la sangre, ciertos tipos de enfermedad renal en los niños que no han respondido a otros tratamientos.
Instrucciones
Tome Leukeran exactamente según lo prescrito por su médico. Tome este medicamento por vía oral. Beba líquidos en abundancia mientras esté tomando este medicamento para prevenir los efectos secundarios. Para la leucemia linfocítica crónica, la dosis inicial usual para adultos es de 0,15 mg por kilogramo de peso corporal por día hasta que el recuento total de glóbulos blancos en la sangre alcanza el rango deseado. 4 semanas después del primer ciclo de tratamiento, la medicación se puede reanudarse con una dosis de 0,1 mg por kilogramo de peso corporal por día. Para la enfermedad de Hodgkin, la dosis habitual es de 0,2 mg por kilogramo de peso corporal por día durante 4 a 8 semanas. Para el linfoma no-Hodgkin, la dosis habitual es de 0,1 mg a 0,2 mg por kilogramo de peso corporal por día durante 4 a 8 semanas inicialmente.
Precauciones
Antes de tomar Leukeran usted debe hablar con su médico si usted tiene convulsiones, lesión en la cabeza, gota, cálculos renales, trastornos sanguíneos (anemia, neutropenia, trombocitopenia). Evite el contacto con personas que tengan infecciones contagiosas. No еутпф inmunizaciones o vacunas sin la aprobación de su médico.
Contraindicaciones
No tome Leukeran si usted es alérgico al clorambucil o cualquier otro ingrediente de este medicamento, si está embarazada o amamantando o si usted ha tenido un ciclo completo de la radiación o la quimioterapia en los últimos 4 semanas.
Posibles efectos secundarios
Busque atención médica de emergencia si usted tiene cambios en su periodo menstrual, diarrea, náuseas, vómitos, espasmos musculares, convulsiones, erupciones en la piel, temblores, hemorragia inesperada, dificultad para orinar, cansancio inusual, ojos o piel amarilla, heces negras o con sangre, urticaria, dificultad para para respirar, inflamación de la garganta, la boca, dolor en las articulaciones, piel pálida, dolor de estómago, pérdida del apetito, orina oscura, dolor de garganta, debilidad, mareos intensos. Si usted nota otros efectos no mencionados anteriormente, póngase en contacto con su médico.
Interacciones con otros medicamentos
Dígale a su médico acerca de todas las medicinas que usted use, especialmente: vacunas vivas (paperas, sarampión, fiebre amarilla), natalizumab, fenilbutazona, el pimecrolimus, roflumilast. La interacción entre dos medicaciones no siempre significa que usted debe dejar de tomar uno de ellos. Dígale a su médico sobre todos los medicamentos, sin receta médica, y los medicamentos a base de hierbas que esté tomando.
Dosis omitida
Tome la dosis que olvidó tan pronto como sea posible. No tome la dosis olvidada si es hora para su próxima dosis. No tome más medicina para alcanzar la dosis pasada.
Sobredosis
Si usted piensa que ha tomado mucho de la medicina busque ayuda médica de emergencia a la vez. Los síntomas de sobredosis son la pérdida del equilibrio, excitación, convulsiones.
Almacenaje
Guarde el medicamento a temperatura ambiente entre 59-77 grados F (15-25 grados C) lejos de la luz y la humedad. Mantenga todos los medicamentos fuera del alcance de los niños y las mascotas.
