Zetia (Ezetimibe)
Informazioni generali
Zetia fa parte di una classe di farmaci chiamati inibitori dell'assorbimento del colesterolo. Agisce riducendo la quantità di colesterolo che il corpo assorbe dalla vostra dieta. La riduzione del colesterolo può aiutare a prevenire ictus e attacchi cardiaci. Zetia viene somministrato per trattare il colesterolo alto (ipercolesterolemia) e la sitosterolemia. Ezetimibe a volte è prescritto insieme ad altri farmaci per abbassare il colesterolo.
Indicazioni
Assumere Zetia esattamente come prescritto dal medico. Prendere questo farmaco per via orale, di solito una volta al giorno e indifferentemente a stomaco pieno o vuoto. Assumere ezetimibe ogni giorno più o meno alla stessa ora. Il dosaggio raccomandato è di 10 mg una volta al giorno. Se prendete una sostanza per gli acidi biliari (ad esempio la colestiramina, colestipolo), assumere Zetia almeno 2 ore prima o 4 ore dopo l'assunzione di questa sostanza.
Precauzioni
Prima di iniziare il trattamento con Zetia informare il proprio medico se si hanno: malattie epatiche o renali, malattie della colecisti, calcoli biliari, problemi muscolari, allergie, se si utilizzano ormoni o se si bevono regolarmente alcolici. Evitare di mangiare cibi con un alto contenuto di grassi o colesterolo.
Controindicazioni
Non prendere Zetia se siete allergici ad ezetimibe o a qualsiasi altro componente del farmaco, se vi trovate in gravidanza o in allattamento, se avete una malattia epatica attiva o inspiegabile ed enzimi epatici elevati.
Possibili effetti collaterali
Cercare immediatamente assistenza medica d'emergenza se si hanno:debolezza muscolare insolita , sensibilità e fragilità, nausea, mal di stomaco, febbre bassa, perdita di appetito, urine scure, feci di colore argilla, ittero (colorazione gialla della pelle o degli occhi), dolore toracico, pancreatite, vomito, tachicardia, mal di gola, mal di testa, secchezza, arrossamento della pelle, orticaria, difficoltà respiratorie, gonfiore del viso, labbra, intorpidimento, umore depresso, vertigini, diarrea, naso che cola o chiuso, dolori articolari, mal di schiena. Se si notano altri effetti non elencati sopra, contattare il medico.
Interazioni farmacologiche
Si informi il medico circa tutti i farmaci in uso, in particolare riguardo a:colestiramina (prevalite, Questran), colestipolo (colestid), colesevelam (welchol), gemfibrozil (Lopid), Ciclosporina (Neoral, Sandimmune, Gengraf), anticoagulanti (warfarin). Si noti inoltre che l'interazione fra due farmaci non necessariamente deve portare ad una sospensione dell'utilizzo di uno dei due farmaci. Si informi il medico circa tutti i farmaci in uso compresi i farmaci da prescrizione,quelli da banco e i prodotti erboristici.
Dose mancata
Prendere la dose dimenticata non appena possibile. Saltare la dose, se è tempo per la dose successiva. Non prendere dosi extra per compensare le dosi dimenticate.
Sovradosaggio
I sintomi da sovradosaggio non sono noti. Se si pensa di aver assunto una dose eccessiva del farmaco cercare immediatamente assistenza medica d'emergenza.
Conservazione
Conservare il farmaco a temperatura ambiente tra i 59-77 gradi F (15-25 ° C) lontano dalla luce e dall'umidità. Non conservare Zetia in bagno. Conservare lontano dalla portata di bambini ed animali domestici.
