Informations générales
XALATAN sont des gouttes oculaires visant à abaisser la pression intraoculaire. Il a un composant actif appelé le latanoprost (une prostaglandine F2α analogique) qui aide à réduire la pression intraoculaire. Il augmente l'écoulement de l'humeur aqueuse. La pression intraoculaire est réduite environ pendant trois-quatre heures après la prise de Xalatan et l'effet maximal est atteint au bout de huit à douze heures.
Posologie
Ce médicament est pris seulement selon la prescription du médecin. Utilisez une goutte à l'œil le soir.
Précautions
Xalatan peut changer la couleur des paupières, peut provoquer des modifications des cils, en augmentant leur longueur, en changeant leur épaisseur, en provoquant leur pigmentation, en changeant la quantité de cils, il peut provoquer l’assombrissement de la peau des paupières; il peut aussi provoquer l’iritis et l'uvéite, les changements de pigmentation de l'iris, l'œdème maculaire.
Contre-indications
Xalatan est contre-indiqué aux patients ayant une hypersensibilité à l'un des ingrédients du médicament. Dans le cas où vous êtes enceinte, envisagez d'être enceinte ou allaitez, évitez de prendre ce médicament et consultez votre médecin.
Effets secondaires possibles
La vision floue, une augmentation de la pigmentation de l'iris, les yeux injectés de sang, une brûlure, une sensation de corps étranger, une maladie inflammatoire de la cornée, des démangeaisons, des infections inflammatoires, des picotements.
Interaction des médicaments
Xalatan peut interagir avec d'autres types de gouttes pour les yeux qui ont du thiomersal dans leur formule. En général, vous pouvez prendre d'autres types de médicaments ophtalmologiques afin de réduire la pression intraoculaire, mais vous devriez faire un intervalle de 5 minutes entre l’utilisation. Le chlorure de benzalkonium est un ingrédient de Xalatan qui peut être absorbé par les lentilles de contact, donc avant d’appliquer ces gouttes oculaires enlevez vos lentilles et mettez-les 15 minutes après l'utilisation du médicament.
Omission de dose
Dans le cas où vous avez oublié de prendre la dose prescrite de ce médicament, prenez-la dès que possible. S’il est déjà le temps pour votre prochaine dose, ne prenez pas la dose que vous avez oubliée et reprenez votre posologie ordinaire. Évitez de compenser une dose oubliée en prenant une dose supplémentaire.
Surdosage
Si vous soupçonnez d’avoir une surdose consultez immédiatement un médecin ou avisez-en votre professionnel de la santé. Les symptômes d'un surdosage sont une irritation des yeux ou des yeux injectés de sang.
Conservation
Ce médicament est conservé non ouvert dans un réfrigérateur. Si le médicament est ouvert, il doit être conservé à température ambiante pendant 6 semaines loin de la lumière, de la chaleur, de l'humidité. Évitez de conserver le médicament dans la salle de bains. Conservez tous les médicaments hors de portée des enfants et des animaux domestiques. Ne l’utilisez pas si la date d'expiration est terminée.
