Instrucciones
Tome Maxolon exactamente según lo prescrito por su médico. Tome este medicamento por vía oral 30 minutos antes de las comidas y al acostarse, generalmente 4 veces al día. La dosis dependerá de su peso, afección médica y respuesta al tratamiento. Cuando se toma para la acidez estomacal o reflujo de la droga se suele tomar tres veces al día unos 30 minutos antes de cada comida. Cuando se utiliza para tratar las náuseas y los vómitos, el medicamento se puede administrar una sola vez o cuando sea necesario.
Precauciones
Antes de tomar Maxolon usted debe hablar con su médico si usted tiene enfermedad de Parkinson, enfermedad hepática o renal, cáncer, diabetes, ciertos trastornos sanguíneos, depresión, asma, presión arterial alta, la cirugía reciente del estómago, la insuficiencia cardíaca. Este medicamento puede causar mareos o somnolencia. No conduzca un coche, o realice cualquier actividad que requiera estar alerto. Evite beber alcohol, puede aumentar ciertos efectos secundarios. Los niños y los adultos mayores pueden ser más sensibles a los efectos secundarios de este medicamento.
Contraindicaciones
No tome Maxolon si usted está embarazada o amamantando, o feocromocitoma si sufre de epilepsia, hemorragia, lesión u obstrucción en el estómago.
Los posibles efectos secundarios
Si cualquiera de estos efectos persisten o empeoran, informe a su médico de inmediato: mareos, dificultad para dormir, somnolencia, diarrea, dolor de cabeza agitación, cambios mentales o del estado de ánimo, disminución de la capacidad sexual, espasmos musculares, hinchazón de las manos o pies, cambios en la menstruación, temblores, aumento de la sudoración, ritmo cardíaco acelerado, erupción cutánea, hinchazón, dificultad para respirar. Si usted nota otros efectos no mencionados anteriormente, póngase en contacto con su médico inmediatamente.
Interacciones con otros medicamentos
Dígale a su médico sobre todos los medicamentos, de venta libre-, y los medicamentos a base de hierbas que está tomando. Dígale a su médico si usted también está tomando: agonistas de la dopamina (ropinirol, pergolida), tranquilizantes pramlintide, (haloperidol, la clorpromazina, la proclorperazina), inhibidores de la MAO (moclobemida, procarbazina, selegilina, tranilcipromina), fármacos anticolinérgicos (benztropina, escopolamina), narcóticos para el dolor medicamentos (codeína, morfina), ciclosporina, levodopa, difenhidramina, relajantes musculares, diazepam, zolpidem. La interacción entre los dos medicamentos no siempre significa que usted debe dejar de tomar uno de ellos.
Dosis olvidada
Tome la dosis que se ha olvidado tan pronto como sea posible. No tome la dosis olvidada si es la hora para su próxima dosis. No tome más medicina para alcanzar la dosis pasada.
Sobredosis
Si usted piensa que tiene una sobredosis de la medicina debe buscar ayuda médica de inmediato. Los síntomas de sobredosis son somnolencia, desorientación y reacciones extrapiramidales.
Almacenamiento
Guarde el medicamento a temperatura ambiente entre 59-77 grados F (15-25 grados C) lejos de la luz y la humedad. Mantenga todos los medicamentos fuera del alcance de los niños y las mascotas.
