Instrucciones
Tomar Pentasa exactamente según lo prescrito por su médico. Tome este medicamento por vía oral con o sin alimentos, generalmente cuatro veces al día. Tome las cápsulas enteras. No mastique ni triture las cápsulas. Si lo hace, puede interferir con la liberación de la droga en el colon. La dosis dependerá de su afección médica y respuesta al tratamiento.
Precauciones
Antes de tomar Pentasa usted debe hablar con su médico si usted tiene enfermedad del hígado, insuficiencia hepática, cirrosis, enfermedad renal, insuficiencia renal, insuficiencia cardíaca congestiva, estenosis pilórica, el vaciado lento del estómago, enfermedad de Crohn, alergias. Los adultos mayores pueden ser más sensibles a los efectos secundarios de este medicamento. Este medicamento puede causar sangrado estomacal. El uso diario de alcohol puede aumentar el riesgo de sangrado estomacal.
Contraindicaciones
Usted no debe tomar Pentasa si usted es alérgico al ácido 5-aminosalicílico o para cualquiera de los componentes de la medicación, los salicilatos, o si tiene gástrica (estómago) o duodenales (intestinales) úlcera, obstrucción del tracto urinario. No debe ser utilizado por un niño menor de 2 años de edad. Informe a su médico si está embarazada o amamantando.
Los posibles efectos secundarios
Obtenga ayuda médica de emergencia si usted tiene diarrea, dolor de cabeza, náuseas, vómitos, gases, fiebre, dolor de garganta, síntomas de la gripe, estreñimiento, mareos, erupciones en la piel, dificultad para respirar, hinchazón de la cara, labios, lengua, urticaria, diarrea con sangre, el estómago dolor, dolor en el pecho, coloración amarillenta de los ojos o la piel, latidos rápidos del corazón, orina de color oscuro. Si usted nota otros efectos no mencionados anteriormente, consulte a su médico.
Interacciones con otros medicamentos
Dígale a su médico acerca de todas las medicinas que usted use, especialmente: digoxina, no esteroides anti-inflamatorios no esteroideos (indometacina, el naproxeno, ibuprofeno, diclofenaco, ketoprofeno), anticoagulantes (warfarina), aspirina, medicamentos para el cáncer (ifosfamida, carmustina, estreptozocina, tretinoína), antiviral medicamentos (foscarnet, adefovir, cidofovir aciclovir), antibióticos (rifampicina, vancomicina, capreomicina), anfotericina B, pentamidina, tacrolimus, azatioprina. La interacción entre los dos medicamentos no siempre significa que usted debe dejar de tomar uno de ellos. Dígale a su médico o recetas sobre todos los medicamentos, de venta libre-, y los medicamentos a base de hierbas que está tomando.
Dosis olvidada
Tome la dosis que se ha olvidado tan pronto como sea posible. No tome la dosis olvidada si es la hora para su próxima dosis. No tome más medicina para alcanzar la dosis pasada.
Sobredosis
Si usted piensa que tiene una sobredosis de la medicina debe buscar ayuda médica de inmediato. Los síntomas de sobredosis son zumbidos en los oídos, pérdida auditiva, cansancio extremo, convulsiones, respiración rápida o dificultosa, vómitos con sangre.
Almacenaje
Guarde el medicamento a temperatura ambiente entre 68-77 grados F (20-25 grados C) lejos de la luz y la humedad. No guarde los medicamentos en el cuarto de baño. Mantenga todos los medicamentos fuera del alcance de los niños y las mascotas.
