Informations générales
Albenza est prescrit pour le traitement des infections causées par les vers. Ces infections peuvent être causées par Taenia solium, kyste hydatique du foie, péritoine, ou des poumons, causées par la forme larvaire du ténia du chien, Echinococcus granulosus, ascarides lombricoïdes communs (ascaridiase), larva migrans cutanée, oxyures (entérobiase ou oxyuriasis) , ankylostomes (ankylostomiase et nécatorose), trichures (trichocéphalose), anguillulose, trichostrongylose. Il agit en prévenant l’absorption du sucre. Par conséquent, l’infection perd de l'énergie et meurt.
Posologie
Il est recommandé de prendre le médicament exactement comme prescrit par votre médecin. Avalez un comprimé en entier. Prenez-le avec repas deux fois par jour.
Précautions
Avant de commencer votre traitement avec Albenza avisez votre médecin si vous avez des problèmes oculaires, une insuffisance hépatique, un taux de globules blancs bas, une faible numération plaquettaire, ou des problèmes de moelle osseuse.
Contre-indications
Les femmes enceintes et les patients ayant une hypersensibilité à Albenza ne peuvent pas utiliser le médicament.
Les effets secondaires possibles
Les effets secondaires peuvent être les suivants: une éruption cutanée ou des démangeaisons, des maux de gorge, une fatigue intense et une faiblesse, des douleurs abdominales, des vertiges, des maux de tête, une fièvre, des nausées, des vomissements, une diarrhée ou une perte temporaire des cheveux. Si vous ressentez un des effets secondaires énumérés ci-dessus consultez votre médecin.
Interactions des médicaments
Avant de commencer votre traitement, informez votre médecin de tous les médicaments que vous prenez, notamment de la dexaméthasone, du praziquantel, de la cimétidine, de la théophylline.
Dose oubliée
Prenez la dose oubliée dès que possible. S'il est presque temps de la prochaine prise il suffit de la sauter et de revenir à votre horaire habituel.
Surdosage

Conservation
Conservation du médicament est entre 20-25 C (68-77 F) à l’abri de la lumière et hors de portée des enfants.
