Informations générales
Cycrin contient un élément actif sous forme d'acétate de médroxyprogestérone, qui est un dérivé de la progestérone. Il est utilisé dans un large éventail de troubles menstruels qui sont dus à un manque de progestérone dans un corps féminin. Des capsules d'acétate de médroxyprogestérone sont efficaces dans le traitement de l'aménorrhée secondaire (arrêt des menstruations); du saignement utérin anormal provoqué par un déséquilibre hormonal. Ce médicament empêche également l’hyperplasie de l'endomètre chez les femmes post-ménopausées qui n'ont pas subi une hystérectomie et qui reçoivent des oestrogènes conjugués. La médroxyprogestérone est également utilisé pour la contraception et pour traiter le cancer endométrial ou rénal.
Posologie
Prenez ce médicament exactement comme prescrit par votre médecin. Vous devez suivre soigneusement toutes les instructions. Évitez de dépasser la dose ou de prendre le médicament plus longtemps que conseillé par votre médecin. La posologie habituelle recommandée de la médroxyprogestérone est de 5 ou 10 mg par jour. L’aménorrhée est traitée pendant 5 à 10 jours. Des saignements utérins anormaux sont traités pendant 5 à 10 jours en commençant par 16 ème ou 21 ème jour du cycle menstruel. L’hyperplasie de l'endomètre est traitée pendant 12 à 14 jours.
Précautions
Consultez votre médecin au cas où vous êtes hypersensible à l'acétate de médroxyprogestérone, dans le cas où vous êtes enceinte ou allaitez un enfant. Évitez de fumer ou de prendre des boissons alcoolisées pendant que vous prenez ce médicament. Suivez les instructions de votre médecin sur le type et la quantité de liquides, des repas, des compléments alimentaires et d’autres médicaments que vous pouvez prendre en même temps avec ce médicament.
Contre-indications
Ce médicament est contre-indiqué aux patients souffrant de la thrombophlébite, des troubles thromboemboliques, de l'apoplexie cérébrale, de la maladie du foie ou des reins, de la malignité du sein, du diabète, du cancer de l'utérus, des saignements vaginaux excessifs, d'une rétention fœtale, d'une hypersensibilité à l'acétate de médroxyprogestérone. La médroxyprogestérone peut inhiber la fertilité et contre-indiquée aux femmes enceintes.
Effets secondaires possibles
Interaction des médicaments
Ce médicament peut interagir avec l’aminoglutéthimide (Cytadren). Il peut provoquer l'élimination de la médroxyprogestérone par le foie. Cette interaction se manifeste par l’abaissement de la concentration de la médroxyprogestérone dans le sang. Par conséquent, il réduit l'efficacité de la médroxyprogestérone.
Omission de dose
Dans le cas où vous avez manqué de prendre une dose de ce médicament, prenez-la dès que possible. S’il est déjà presque le temps de prendre la prochaine dose, ne prenez pas la dose que vous avez oubliée et gardez votre programme de dosage habituel. Ne prenez pas deux doses à la fois.
Surdosage
Si vous pensez que vous avez une surdose du médicament, contactez immédiatement votre centre anti-poison local et informez-en votre médecin ou votre pharmacien. Faites cela même s'il n'y a aucun signe de malaise ou d'intoxication. Vous pourriez avoir besoin d’une attention médicale urgente. Habituellement, les symptômes d'un surdosage comprennent des nausées, des vomissements, une sensibilité des seins, des pertes vaginales, des vertiges, une somnolence.
Conservation
Ce médicament est conservé dans un endroit frais et sec, loin des sources de la lumière du soleil, de la chaleur et de l'humidité. Ne le conservez pas dans la salle de bain. Gardez ce produit hors de la portée des enfants et des animaux domestiques.
