Dilantin est un médicament anti-épileptique, aussi appelé un anticonvulsif. Il agit en ralentissant les impulsions dans le cerveau qui provoquent des saisies. Dilantin est utilisé pour contrôler les convulsions. Il est utilisé pour traiter les crises, afin de prévenir l'épilepsie post-traumatique, des arythmies ventriculaires, certaines formes de syndrome de Ménière. Votre médecin doit décider si c'est le médicament approprié pour vous.
Posologie
Si vous prenez Dilantin pour prévenir les convulsions, continuez à prendre le médicament même si vous vous sentez bien. Vous pouvez avoir une augmentation des saisies si vous arrêtez de le prendre. Ne modifiez pas votre dose de Dilantin sans l'avis de votre médecin. N’écrasez pas, ne mâchez pas, ne cassez pas ou n’ouvrez pas pas une capsule à libération prolongée. Agitez bien la suspension orale de Dilantin juste avant de vous mesurer une dose. La dose prescrite est de 5 mg par kilo chez l'adulte et 4-7 mg par kilo chez les enfants. Adaptez la dose du médicament avec votre médecin si vous êtes patient âgé, si vous avez le diabète ou une maladie des reins ou du foie.
Précautions
Évitez d'utiliser le médicament si vous avez une maladie du foie ou des reins, la porphyrie, si vous êtes enceinte. Les patients d'origine asiatique ont un risque plus élevé d’avoir une réaction de la peau rare mais grave. Dilantin peut détériorer votre pensée ou les réactions. Soyez prudent si vous conduisez un véhicule ou faites tout ce qui vous oblige à être vigilant. Évitez d'utiliser le médicament avec des antiacides.
Contre-indications
Soyez prudent si vous avez une maladie du foie ou des reins, une leucopénie, des problèmes cardiaques, le diabète, l'émaciation, la porphyrie aussi que si vous prenez l'isoniazide, le teturamom ou l'aspirine ou si vous êtes enceinte.
Effets secondaires possibles
Le médicament peut provoquer des vertiges, le trouble, des tremblements, l'ataxie, le nystagme, un écoeurement, des nausées, des problèmes avec la peau, des allergies, une diarrhée, l'anémie, des manifestations du diabète, l'hyperplasie, des problèmes avec les os, aussi si vous avez des pensées suicidaires ou d’auto-traumatisation. Consultez votre médecin pour un avis médical sur les effets secondaires.
Interaction des médicaments
Omission de dose
Prenez la dose oubliée dès que possible. Sautez-la s'il est temps pour votre prochaine dose. Ne prenez pas de médicaments supplémentaires pour compenser la dose oubliée.
Surdosage
Cherchez de l’aide médicale d'urgence si vous pensez que vous avez utilisé trop de médicament. Les symptômes du surdosage peuvent inclure le tic des yeux, des troubles de l'élocution, une perte d'équilibre, des tremblements, une tension musculaire ou une faiblesse, des nausées, des vomissements, des vertiges, des évanouissements et la respiration lente ou superficielle. Le taux sanguin de Dilantin qui est plus de 20 mg / l chez les enfants peut entraîner une toxicité aiguë.
Conservation
Conservez le médicament à température ambiante entre 15-30 C (59-86 F). Conservez-le à l'écart de l'humidité et de la lumière.
