Dramamine (Dimenhydrinate)
Informazioni generali
Dramamine è un antistaminico che viene utilizzato per prevenire e curare la nausea, il vomito e le vertigini causate dalla cinetosi. Dremamine è 'più efficace se viene assunto per prevenire la cinetosi piuttosto che per curarla dopo. Il farmaco agisce bloccando una determinata sostanza naturale (acetilcolina) e per prevenire i suoi effetti sull'orecchio interno. L'orecchio interno aiuta a mantenere il senso di equilibrio e di posizione.
Indicazioni
Assumere Dramamine esattamente come prescritto dal medico. Prendere questo farmaco per via orale,a stomaco pieno o vuotod, a 30 minuti a 1 ora prima di iniziare un'attività come per esempio gite, viaggi. Prendere ogni dose con un bicchiere pieno d'acqua. Dramamine è di solito preso ogni 4 - 6 ore, se necessario. Non prendere più di 400 mg di Dremamine in un giorno.
Precauzioni
Prima di iniziare il trattamento con Dremamine informare il proprio medico se si hanno:malattie epatiche o renali, glaucoma, ingrossamento della prostata, problemi alla vescica, difficoltà a urinare, asma, enfisema, battito cardiaco irregolare, problemi di stomaco o pressione alta. Questo farmaco può provocare vertigini, sonnolenza o causare visione offuscata. Non guidare o svolgere attività che richiedono attenzione.
Controindicazioni
Informare il medico in caso di gravidanza o d'allattamento. I bambini con età inferiore ai 2 anni non devono assumere il farmaco.
Possibili effetti collaterali
Cercare immediatamente assistenza medica d'emergenza se si hanno:sonnolenza, vertigini, cefalea, costipazione, disturbi di stomaco, disturbi visivi, irritabilità, diminuzione coordinamento, o secchezza delle fauci, eruzioni cutanee, prurito, gonfiore, battito cardiaco irregolare, ronzio alle orecchie, difficoltà a urinare, convulsioni, riduzione della appetito, nausea, vomito, diarrea, irrequietezza, insonnia. Se si notano altri effetti non elencati sopra, contattare il medico.
Interazioni farmacologiche
Si informi il medico circa tutti i farmaci in uso, in particolare riguardo a:antidepressivi, antidolorifici, antistaminici (difenidramina crema, pomata), sedativi, inibitori MAO (furazolidone, fenelzina, isocarbossazide, tranilcipromina), ansiolitici, miorilassanti, antispastici (atropina, belladonna alcaloidi), antibiotici (gentamicina), sostanze per crisi depressive (carbamazepina), antidepressivi triciclici (amitriptilina), antidolorifici (codeina). Si noti inoltre che l'interazione fra due farmaci non necessariamente deve portare ad una sospensione dell'utilizzo di uno dei due farmaci. Si informi il medico circa tutti i farmaci in uso compresi i farmaci da prescrizione,quelli da banco e prodotti erboristici.
Dose mancata
Prendere la dose dimenticata non appena possibile. Saltare la dose, se è tempo per la dose successiva. Non prendere dosi extra per compensare le dosi dimenticate.
Sovradosaggio
Se si pensa di aver assunto una dose eccessiva del farmaco cercare immediatamente assistenza medica d'emergenza. I sintomi da sovradosaggio sono:convulsioni,attacchi, sonnolenza, difficoltà respiratorie, febbre, allucinazioni, pupille dilatate, tremori.
Conservazione
Conservare il farmaco a temperatura ambiente tra i 68-77 gradi F (20-25 gradi C) lontano da calore, luce e umidità.
