TERAZOSIN é um anti hipertensivo. Ele funciona relaxando os vasos sanguíneos. Também é usado no tratamento da hiperplasia benigna da próstata (BPH) nos homens e para tratar a tensão arterial elevada tanto nos homens como nas mulheres.
O que devo dizer ao meu médico antes de tomar este medicamento?
Ele precisa de saber se tem alguma destas condições:
- reacção alérgica ou anormal ao terazosin, outros medicamentos, alimentos, corantes, conservantes
- se está grávida ou a tentar engravidar
- se está a amamentar
Como devo tomar este medicamento?
Tome este medicamento por via oral com um copo de água. Pode tomar este medicamento com ou sem alimentos. Tome a sua dose em intervalos regulares. Não tome o seu medicamento mais do que indicado. Não pare de tomar excepto se por aconselhamento do seu médico.
Fale com o seu pediatra quanto à utilização deste medicamento em crianças. Cuidados especiais podem ser necessários.
Sobredosagem: Se pensa que poderá ter tomado uma dose superior ao prescrito contacte o Centro de Informação Antivenenos ou os Serviços de Urgência de imediato.
NOTA: Este medicamento é apenas para si. Não o partilhe com outros.
Que fazer se falhei uma toma?
Se falhar uma dose, tome-a o mais cedo possível. Se estiver quase na hora de tomar a próxima dose, tome apenas essa. Não tome doses duplas ou extras.
O que pode interferir com este medicamento?
- diuréticos
- medicamentos para a tensão arterial elevada
- citrato de sildenafil
- tadalafil
- vardenafil

Sonolência e tonturas são mais susceptíveis de ocorrer após a primeira dose, após um aumento da dose, ou durante o tempo quente ou exercício. Estes efeitos podem diminuir depois do seu corpo se ajustar a este medicamento. Não conduzir, utilizar máquinas, ou fazer qualquer coisa que precise de atenção mental até que saiba como este medicamento o afecta. Não se levante ou sente rapidamente, especialmente se for um paciente mais velho. Isto reduz o risco de tonturas ou desmaios. O álcool pode torná-lo mais sonolento e com tonturas. Evite bebidas alcoólicas.
Não se auto-medique para tratar a tosse, constipações, ou dor enquanto toma este medicamento sem se aconselhar com o seu médico. Alguns componentes podem aumentar a sua tensão arterial.
A sua boca pode ficar seca. Mascar pastilhas ou chupar rebuçados, e beber muita água pode ajudar. Contacte o seu médico se o problema for grave ou não desaparecer.
Que efeitos secundários posso notar com a toma deste medicamento?
Efeitos secundários que deve reportar ao seu médico de imediato:
- visão turva
- dificuldade em respirar, falta de ar
- desmaios, frivolidade
- batimento cardíaco rápido ou irregular, palpitações ou dor torácica
- prolongada e dolorosa erecção do pénis
- inchaço das pernas e tornozelos
- invulgarmente fraco ou cansado
Efeitos secundários que normalmente não requerem atenção médica (diga ao seu médico ou profissional de saúde se persistem, ou se são incómodos):
- cefaleia
- náuseas
- congestão nasal

Onde devo guardar o meu medicamento?
Mantenha-o fora do alcance das crianças.
Guarde-o num local com temperatura entre 20 e 25º C (68 e 77º F). Temperaturas mais altas podem amolecer ou derreter as cápsulas. Proteja da luz e da humidade. Deite fora medicamentos não utilizados após expirar o prazo de validade.
