Información general

Reminyl se utiliza para el tratamiento de leve a moderada confusión (demencia) en relación con la enfermedad de Alzheimer. No cura la enfermedad de Alzheimer, pero puede mejorar la memoria, la conciencia y la capacidad de realizar las funciones diarias.
Instrucciones
Tome Reminyl exactamente según lo prescrito por su médico. La dosis inicial recomendada es de 4 mg dos veces al día. Después de cuatro semanas, su médico puede aumentar la dosis a 8 mg dos veces al día. Si es necesario, la dosis puede aumentarse hasta 12 mg dos veces al día después de un período adicional de cuatro semanas. Algunas personas pueden beneficiarse de una dosis aún mayor (16 mg dos veces al día). Las personas con enfermedad hepática o renal puede necesitar una dosis menor.
Precauciones
Antes de tomar Reminyl debe hablar con su médico si usted tiene problemas del corazón, enfermedad renal, insuficiencia renal, úlceras estomacales o intestinales, enfermedades del hígado, insuficiencia hepática, hepatitis, cirrosis, problemas de vejiga, asma, epilepsia o convulsiones, problemas respiratorios o pulmonares, agrandamiento de la próstata, una próxima cirugía, algún tipo de alergia. Este medicamento puede causar mareos. No conduzca o realice tareas que requieran estar alerta. Limite el consumo de las bebidas alcohólicas.
Contraindicaciones

Posibles efectos secundarios
Busque atención médica de emergencia si usted tiene dolor de cabeza, dolores musculares, dolor abdominal, diarrea, náuseas, dificultad para dormir, pérdida de peso, mareos, pérdida de apetito, secreción nasal, vómitos, dolor en el pecho, mareos, desmayos, presión arterial alta o baja, pálido la piel, indigestión, sangre en la orina, orina oscura, heces de color claro, temblor, aumento de la sudoración, debilidad muscular, ritmo cardíaco lento, convulsiones. Si usted nota otros efectos no mencionados anteriormente, póngase en contacto con su médico.
Interacciones con otros medicamentos
Dígale a su médico acerca de todas las medicinas que usted use, especialmente: medicamentos anticolinérgicos (clidinio, atropina, diciclomina, la belladona, escopolamina), fármacos colinérgicos (ambenonio, donepezilo, rivastigmina), cimetidina, ciprofloxacina, medicamentos antifúngicos (voriconazol, fluconazol, itraconazol, ketoconazol ), medicamentos anti-inflamatorios no esteroideos (celecoxib, etodolac, naproxeno, ibuprofeno), teofilina. La interacción entre dos medicaciones no siempre significa que usted debe dejar de tomar uno de ellos. Dígale a su médico sobre todos los medicamentos, sin receta médica, y los medicamentos a base de hierbas que esté tomando.
Dosis omitida
Tome la dosis que olvidó tan pronto como sea posible. No tome la dosis olvidada si es hora para su próxima dosis. No tome más medicina para alcanzar la dosis pasada.
Sobredosis
Si usted piensa que ha tomado mucho de la medicina busque ayuda médica de emergencia a la vez. Los síntomas de sobredosis son debilidad muscular o espasmos, calambres del estómago, respiración lenta o superficial, latidos cardíacos irregulares, desmayos, convulsiones.
Almacenaje
Guarde el medicamento a temperatura ambiente 77 grados F (25 grados C) lejos de la luz y la humedad. No guarde los medicamentos en el cuarto de baño. Mantenga todos los medicamentos fuera del alcance de los niños y las mascotas.
