Terramycine est un antibiotique appelé tétracycline. Il est utilisé pour traiter certaines infections bactériennes. Terramycine est un antibiotique à l'activité cliniquement prouvée qui est largement utilisé contre les bactéries gram-positives et gram-négatives, les rickettsies, les spirochètes, de gros virus et certains protozoaires. Il est efficace contre les infections dûes aux souches sensibles des staphylocoques, des streptocoques, des pneumocoques, de l’haemophilus influenzae, du pseudomonas aeruginosa, du bacille de Koch-Weeks et du proteus.
Posologie
Prenez terramycine conformément aux prescriptions de votre médecin. Prenez-le avec un estomac vide au moins 1 heure avant ou 2 heures après le repas à la même heure chaque jour. La dose habituelle pour les adultes est de 1-2 g par jour répartie en quatre prises égales, selon la gravité de l'infection. Le traitement doit être poursuivi pendant au moins 24-48 heures après la disparition de la fièvre et des symptômes. Evitez de prendre du lait, des produits laitiers, du jus enrichi en calcium avant et après la prise du médicament.
Précautions
Avant de prendre la terramycine vous devriez aviser votre médecin si vous avez des problèmes rénaux ou hépatiques, des infections de l'estomac, une diarrhée. Vous devez éviter tout contact avec les gens qui ont des infections virales. Terramycine peut augmenter le risque d’avoir des étourdissements ou une somnolence. Évitez d’effectuer des activités qui exigent de la vigilance mentale (conduire un véhicule, une manutention de la machinerie lourde, etc.)
Contre-indications
N’utilisez pas terramycine si vous êtes allergique à l’un des ingrédients de ce produit ou aux antibiotiques tétracyclines, si vous prenez l’acitrétine ou le méthoxyflurane. Avisez votre médecin si vous êtes enceinte ou allaitez.
Effets secondaires possibles
Obtenez de l'aide médicale d'urgence si vous avez des nausées, un gonflement du visage, des rougeurs, des diarrhées, l’urticaire, une perte d'appétit, la sensibilité à la lumière du soleil, des douleurs d'estomac, une vision floue, la fièvre, l’irritation vaginale, des vomissements. Si vous remarquez d'autres effets non énumérés ci-dessus, consultez votre médecin.
Interaction des médicaments
Informez votre médecin de tous les autres médicaments que vous utilisez, notamment: l'atovaquone, le lithium, les contraceptifs oraux (pilules contraceptives) ou les pénicillines (amoxicilline). L'interaction entre deux médicaments ne signifie pas toujours que vous devez cesser de prendre l'un d'eux. Informez votre médecin ou le prescripteur de tous les médicaments sur ordonnance, en vente libre et des herbes médicinales que vous prenez.
Omission de dose
Prenez la dose oubliée dès que possible. Sautez-la s'il est temps pour votre prochaine dose. Ne prenez pas de doses supplémentaires pour compenser la dose oubliée.
Surdosage
Si vous pensez que vous avez une surdose du médicament, cherchez de l’aide médicale d'urgence immédiatement.
Conservation
Conservez le médicament à la température ambiante entre 68-77 degrés F (20-25 degrés C) à l’abri de la lumière et de l'humidité. Ne conservez pas les médicaments dans la salle de bain. Conservez-le dans un emballage étanche. Conservez tous les médicaments hors de portée des enfants et des animaux domestiques.
