Orlistat is a medicine prescribed for weight loss treatment. It belongs to the group of lipase inhibitors. It works directly in the stomach and doesn't influence the hormonal balance in the brain. Directions
Precautions
Before starting your treatment with Orlistat please inform your doctor if you have a chronic malabsorption syndrome, or gallbladder problems, kidney stones, if you have anorexia or bulimia, if you have diabetes,if you take cyclosporine, or any other weight-loss medicine
Contraindications
The patients with the following conditions can't use Orlistat: pregnancy and breastfeeding, malabsorption, kidney problems,reduced gallbladder function (e.g. after cholecystectomy).
Possible side effect
Drug interaction
Orlistat interacts with the following medicines: Cyclosporine and Warfarin.
Missed dose
Take the missed dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time of the next intake just skip it and go back to your schedule.
Overdose
If you think you have overdosed the medicine seek emergency medical help at once.
Storage
Store the medicine at room temperature between 20-25 C (68-77 F).
