Orlistat est un médicament prescrit pour favoriser la perte de poids. Il appartient au groupe des inhibiteurs de la lipase. Il agit directement dans l'estomac et n’a pas d’influence sur l'équilibre hormonal dans le cerveau. Il peut être prescrit aux personnes souffrant de problèmes de santé tels que l'hypertension artérielle, le diabète ou l'hypercholestérolémie. Il agit en bloquant l'absorption des graisses et en réduisant le nombre de calories que vous obtenez d'un repas.
Posologie
Il est recommandé de prendre le médicament suivant la prescription de votre médecin. Généralement, la dose recommandée est de 120 mg pris 3 fois par jour.
Précautions
Avant de commencer votre traitement avec Orlistat, veuillez informer votre médecin si vous présentez un syndrome de malabsorption chronique ou des problèmes de vésicule biliaire, de calculs rénaux, si souffrez d’anorexie ou de boulimie, si vous souffrez de diabète, ou prenez de la cyclosporine, tout autre médicament favorisant la perte de poids.
Contre-indications
Les patients présentant les états suivants doivent éviter d’utiliser Orlistat: état de grossesse et d'allaitement au sein, malabsorption, problèmes rénaux, fonction vésiculaire réduite (par exemple après cholécystectomie).
Effets secondaires possibles
Interaction des médicaments
Orlistat peut avoir une interaction avec les médicaments suivants: Cyclosporine et Warfarine.
Omission de dose
Prenez la dose omise dès que possible. S'il est presque l’heure de la prochaine prise, il suffit de sauter la dose omise et de revenir à votre horaire de prise habituel.
Surdosage
Si vous pensez avoir pris une surdose de ce médicament, demandez de l’aide médicale d'urgence immédiatement.
Conservation
Conservez le médicament à la température ambiante entre 20-25 °C (68-77 °F).
