Informations générales
La gabapentine est un médicament anti-épileptique, aussi appelé un antispasmodique. Il affecte les neurotransmetteurs et les nerfs dans le corps qui sont impliqués dans la cause de crises et de certains types de douleur.
Posologie
Neurontin peut être pris avec ou sans nourriture, avec un verre d'eau. N’écrasez pas, ne mâchez pas ou ne cassez pas un comprimé à libération prolongée. N'arrêtez pas de prendre Neurontin pour des crises sans en parler d'abord à votre médecin, même si vous vous sentez bien. Vous pourriez avoir une augmentation de la fréquence des crises si vous cessez d'utiliser Neurontin brusquement. Suivez les instructions sur l’étiquette de votre prescription.
Précautions
Vous ne devez pas utiliser Neurontin si vous êtes allergique à la gabapentine. Avant de le prendre, informez votre médecin si vous avez une maladie des reins, du foie ou une maladie cardiaque. Avisez votre médecin si vous êtes enceinte ou prévoyez devenir enceinte pendant l'utilisation de ce médicament. Ne buvez pas d'alcool et ne fumez pas.
Contre-indications
Evitez de prendre Neurontin si vous êtes allergique à la gabapentine.
Effets secondaires possibles
Ce médicament peut provoquer une éruption, un prurit, des maux de tête, des nausées, etc. Signalez à votre médecin tout nouveau symptôme ou une aggravation des symptômes.
Interaction des médicaments
Informez votre médecin si vous avez utilisé des produits à base de plantes. Le médicament peut interagir avec des antiacides, la morphine, le naproxène et le sevelamer. Consultez votre médecin ou votre pharmacien pour des informations supplémentaires.
Omission de dose
Prenez la dose oubliée dès que possible. Sautez-la s'il est temps pour votre prochaine dose. Ne prenez pas de doses supplémentaires pour compenser la dose oubliée.
Surdosage
Informez votre médecin si vous pensez que vous avez pris trop de ce médicament. Les symptômes du surdosage peuvent inclure la vision trouble, des vertiges, des nausées, des évanouissements, des troubles de l'élocution.
Conservation
Conservez le médicament à température ambiante entre 68-77 degrés F (20-25 degrés C). Conservez-le à l'écart de l'humidité et de la lumière. Gardez-le hors de portée des enfants et loin des animaux domestiques.
