Voltaren Xr appartiene a una classe di farmaci chiamati farmaci anti-infiammatori non steroidei (FANS). Il farmaco viene usato per ridurre il dolore, l'infiammazione, il gonfiore e la rigidità nelle persone con osteoartrosi o artrite reumatoide. Voltaren Xr non è una cura per l'artrite, né rallenta la progressione della malattia ma agisce bloccando un enzima specifico chiamato cicloossigenasi (COX), bloccando la produzione di varie sostanze infiammatorie nel corpo. Voltaren Xr blocca anche la produzione di prostaglandine. Voltaren-Xr è molto utile a ridurre il dolore,l' infiammazione ed il gonfiore associato a diverse forme di artrite e altre malattie.
Indicazioni
Assumere Voltaren Xr esattamente come prescritto dal medico. La dose raccomandata per il trattamento di osteoartrosi o di artrite reumatoide è tipicamente di 100 mg al giorno. Solitamente è raccomandato assumere il farmaco a stomaco pieno per aiutare a prevenire disturbi allo stomaco. Il farmaco deve assere assunto ogni giorno più o meno allo stesso orario.
Precauzioni
Prima di iniziare ad assumere Voltaren Xr parlare con il prorpio medico se si hanno: asma, malattie cardiache, insufficienza cardiaca congestizia, pressione alta (ipertensione), malattie epatiche o renali, epatiti, cirrosi, problemi di emorragie, diabete, ulcera allo stomaco, sanguinamento allo stomaco o allergie. Non guidare o svolgere attività che richiedono attenzione.
Controindicazioni
Non usare Voltaren Xr se si è allergici ad uno qualsiasi degli ingredienti del farmaco , se ci si trova negli ultimi 3 mesi di gravidanza, se si ha subito un intervento di bypass cardiaco e se si hanno problemi renali.
Possibili effetti collaterali
Cercare immediatamente assistenza medica d'emergenza se si hanno:mal di stomaco, stitichezza, diarrea, sanguinamento inspiegabile, vomito, feci catramose, anemia, ulcera peptica, bruciore di stomaco o indigestione (dispepsia), orticaria, gas, nausea, vertigini, gonfiore, mal di testa, prurito, eruzioni cutanee inspiegabili , ingiallimento della pelle o degli occhi, intorpidimento, ronzio alle orecchie, visione o cambiamenti nella parlata . Se si notano altri effetti non elencati sopra, contattare il medico.
Interazioni farmacologiche
Si informi il medico circa tutti i farmaci in uso, in particolare riguardo a: antagonisti del recettore dell'angiotensina II (losartan, eposartan, olmesartan), beta-bloccanti (penbutolol, labetalolo, atenololo, metoprololo), corticosteroidi (cortisone, fludrocortisone, prednisone, prednisolone), ciclosporina, fenitoina , fenobarbital, rifampicina, fluconazolo, ketoconazolo, sulfisossazolo, capecitabina, digossina, diuretici (furosemide, bumetanide, triamterene metolazone), litio, aspirina, dipiridamolo, eparina, lepirudina, farmaci anti-infiammatori non steroidei (celecoxib, ibuprofene, meloxicam, ketoprofene) , trombolitici (streptochinasi, alteplase), tirofiban, warfarin, probenecid, il metotrexato, farmaci SSRI o SNRI (fluoxetina, citalopram, sertralina, escitalopram). Si noti inoltre che l'interazione fra due farmaci non necessariamente deve portare ad una sospensione dell'utilizzo di uno dei due farmaci. Si informi il medico circa tutti i farmaci in uso compresi i farmaci da prescrizione,quelli da banco e i prodotti erboristici.
Dose mancata
Prendere la dose dimenticata non appena possibile. Saltare la dose, se è tempo per la dose successiva. Non prendere dosi extra per compensare le dosi dimenticate.
Sovradosaggio
Se si pensa di aver assunto una dose eccessiva del farmaco cercare immediatamente assistenza medica d'emergenza. I sintomi da sovradosaggio sono:sanguinamento insolito, minzione ridotta, convulsioni, mal di stomaco, tremori, vertigini, sonnolenza, difficoltà respiratoria, nausea, vomito.
Conservazione
Conservare il farmaco a temperatura ambiente tra i 68-77 gradi F (20-25 ° C) lontano dalla luce e dall'umidità. Non conservare Voltaren Xr in bagno. Conservare lontano dalla portata di bambini ed animali domestici.
