Información general
Astelin es un antihistamínico en aerosol nasal. Funciona mediante el bloqueo de ciertas sustancias naturales llamadas histaminas que son responsables de los síntomas alérgicos.
Instrucciones
Tome Astelin exactamente según lo prescrito por su médico. La dosis recomendada para el tratamiento de las alergias nasales (conocidas como rinitis alérgica) en adultos y niños de 12 años y más es de uno o dos pulverizaciones en cada orificio nasal dos veces al día. Para el tratamiento de la rinitis vasomotora: Uso de 2 pulverizaciones en cada orificio nasal dos veces al día.
Precauciones
Antes de tomar Astelin usted debe hablar con su médico si usted tiene problemas de riñón. El medicamento puede provocar somnolencia. Evite conducir un vehículo o realizar cualquier actividad que requiera estar alerta. Limite el consumo de las bebidas alcohólicas. No se recomienda en niños menores de 12 años de edad.
Contraindicaciones
No tome Astelin si usted tiene alergia a cualquier antihistamínico, si usted está embarazada o amamantando.
Los posibles efectos secundarios
Obtenga ayuda médica de emergencia si usted tiene hinchazón, mareos, erupciones cutáneas, dificultad para respirar, picazón, adormecimiento, dolor de cabeza, visión borrosa, dolor ocular, dolores musculares, sangre en la orina, dolor de garganta, aumento de peso, náusea, sangrado por la nariz. Si usted nota otros efectos no mencionados anteriormente, consulte a su médico.
Interacciones con otros medicamentos
Dígale a su médico acerca de todas las medicinas que usted use, especialmente: antihistamínicos (difenhidramina), medicamentos para dormir (zolpidem), medicamentos psiquiátricos (clorpromazina, amitriptilina), analgésicos narcóticos (codeína), medicamentos anti-ansiedad (diazepam), anticonvulsivos las drogas (fenobarbital), relajantes musculares, tranquilizantes. La interacción entre los dos medicamentos no siempre significa que usted debe dejar de tomar uno de ellos. Dígale a su médico todos los medicamentos, de venta libre-, y los medicamentos a base de hierbas que está tomando.
Dosis olvidada
Tome la dosis que se ha olvidado tan pronto como sea posible. No tome la dosis olvidada si es la hora para su próxima dosis. No tome más medicina para alcanzar la dosis pasada.
Sobredosis
Si usted piensa que tiene una sobredosis de la medicina debe buscar ayuda médica de inmediato. Los síntomas de sobredosis son las convulsiones, disminución del tono muscular, la salivación.
Almacenamiento
Guarde el medicamento a temperatura ambiente entre 68-77 grados F (20-25 grados C) lejos de la luz y la humedad. No guarde los medicamentos en el cuarto de baño. Mantenga todos los medicamentos fuera del alcance de los niños y las mascotas.
