Cephalexin est dans un groupe de médicaments appelés céphalosporines et il est utilisé pour combattre les bactéries dans le corps. Il agit en intervenant dans la formation de la paroi cellulaire des bactéries, provoquant sa rupture et en détruisant les bactéries. Il est utilisé pour traiter les infections causées par des bactéries, y compris les infections des voies respiratoires supérieures, des oreilles, de la peau, des os et des infections des voies urinaires.
Posologie
La dose prescrite pour les adultes est de 1 à 4 gr en prises distinctes, toutes les 6 ou 12 heures, selon le type de maladie.
Précautions
N’utilisez pas ce médicament si vous êtes allergique à la céphalexine ou si vous avez le diabète, une maladie de foie ou des reins et des troubles d’estomac.
Contre-indications
Avant d'utiliser Cephalexin, avisez votre médecin si vous êtes allergique à la céphalexine, aux céphalosporines et aux antibiotiques bêta-lactamases aussi que si vous avez une maladie rénale, une maladie d'estomac ou si vous êtes enceinte ou allaitez.
Effets secondaires possibles
Le médicament peut provoquer des vertiges, un écoeurement, une éruption, des maux de tête, de la fièvre, des maux de gorge, la miction moins fréquente que d'habitude ou son absence, une urine foncée, des nausées, une jaunisse et une réaction allergique (éruption cutanée, urticaire), une faiblesse. Consultez votre médecin pour un avis médical sur les effets secondaires.
Interaction des médicaments
Avant d'utiliser la céphalexine, avertissez votre médecin si vous utilisez l'un des médicaments suivants: un diluant du sang comme la warfarine, la metformine ou le probénécide. Informez votre médecin de tous les médicaments sur ordonnance et en vente libre que vous utilisez.
Omission de dose
Prenez la dose oubliée dès que possible. Sautez-la s'il est temps pour votre prochaine dose. Ne prenez pas de doses supplémentaires pour compenser la dose oubliée.
Surdosage
Cherchez de l'aide médicale d'urgence si vous pensez que vous avez utilisé trop de médicament. Les symptômes du surdosage peuvent inclure un écoeurement, des nausées, la diarrhée ou du sang dans votre urine.
Conservation
Conservez le médicament à température ambiante entre 59-77 degrés F (15-25 degrés C). Conservez-le à l'écart de l'humidité et de la lumière. Gardez-le hors de portée des enfants et loin des animaux domestiques.
