Levaquin (Levofloxacin)

Levaquin è indicato per il trattamento delle infezioni batteriche della pelle, dei seni paranasali, reni, vescica e della prostata. Si tratta di un antibiotico del gruppo dei fluorochinoloni ed capace di fermare la moltiplicazione di batteri. Il farmaco impedisce la riproduzione e la riparazione del materiale genetico dei batteri, DNA.
Indicazioni
Prendere con un grande bicchiere d'acqua a stomaco vuoto o dopo un pasto attraverso periodi di tempo uguali. Bere più acqua del solito, per evitare la formazione di cristalli di Levaquin nelle urine.
Precauzioni
Prima di iniziare il trattamento informare il medico se si hanno malattie epatiche o renali, miastenia grave, problemi articolari, convulsioni o epilessia, diabete e bassi livelli di potassio nel sangue (ipopotassiemia). Evitare la luce solare.
Controindicazioni
Non è consentita l’assunzione del farmaco da parte di pazienti con reazione allergica a qualsiasi ingrediente.
Possibili effetti collaterali
Gli effetti collaterali possono essere i seguenti: nausea e vomito, diarrea, cefalea, costipazione. Effetti collaterali meno comuni sono: disturbi del sonno, vertigini, rash cutaneo, flatulenza, dolore nella parte superiore dello stomaco e prurito.
Interazioni farmacologiche
Dose mancata
Assumere la dose dimenticata non appena possibile. Se è quasi ora della dose successiva basta non assumerla e tornare ad assumere il farmaco come previsto.
Overdose
Conservazione
Conservare il farmaco a temperatura ambiente tra i 15-25 gradi °C (59-77 gradi F) lontano dalla luce e dall'umidità, da bambini e da animali domestici. Non utilizzare dopo il termine di scadenza.
