Informations générales
Bactrim est un produit antibactérien synthétique. Bactrim est prescrit pour le traitement de la pneumonie et d’autres maladies des systèmes respiratoire, digestif, urogénital causées par des infections bactériennes qui se développent après une intervention chirurgicale et autres. Il comprend deux médicaments, le sulfaméthoxazole et le triméthoprime. Ensemble, ces médicaments sont actifs contre les streptocoques, les staphylocoques, les pneumocoques, le bacille de ;a dysenterie, la fièvre typhoïde, E. coli, Proteus, et inefficaces contre Mycobacterium tuberculosis, les spirochètes, Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Posologie
Il est recommandé de prendre le médicament suivant la prescription de votre médecin. Prenez-le avec un grand verre d'eau, à jeun ou avec nourriture. Bactrim peut être pris 2-3 fois par jour. Bactrim peut être pris deux ou trois fois par jour avec ou sans repas. Le dosage dépend du type et de la gravité de l'infection.
Précautions
Avant de commencer votre traitement au Bactrim, informez votre médecin si vous avez des troubles d'asthme, des reins ou du foie. Soyez prudent pendant la prise du médicament. Il peut provoquer des diarrhées. Evitez de prendre des bains de soleil pendant une longue durée.
Contre-indications
Les femmes enceintes et celles en période d’allaitement, les patients présentant une allergie au Bactrim et une anémie causée par une carence en acide folique, ne devraient pas utiliser le médicament.
Effets secondaires possibles
Les effets secondaires peuvent être les suivants: urticaire, difficultés respiratoires, gonflement du visage, des lèvres, de la langue, ou de la gorge ou de plus sérieux signes de mauvais état de santé tels que fièvre, maux de gorge, maux de tête et avec apparition de cloques, peau pâle, ecchymoses ou saignements, diarrhée de type aqueux ou saignant, hallucinations, ralentissement du rythme cardiaque, pouls faible, douleurs d'estomac, nausées, urines moins fréquentes que d'habitude ou absence de miction. Si vous ressentez l'un des effets secondaires énumérés ci-dessus, vous devriez en aviser votre médecin.
Interaction des médicaments
Avisez votre médecin de tous les médicaments que vous utiliseriez avant de commencer votre traitement avec Bactrim. Il peut avoir une interaction avec les médicaments suivants: médicaments antidiabétiques, diurétiques, cyclosporine, digoxine, vaccins, antidépresseurs tricycliques,. Il peut être co-administré avec du dofétilide ou de la méthénamine.
Omission de dose
Prenez la dose omise dès que possible. S'il est presque l’heure de la prochaine dose, il suffit de sauter la dose omise et de revenir à votre horaire de prise habituel.
Surdosage
Si vous pensez avoir pris une surdose de ce médicament, demandez une aide médicale d'urgence immédiatement. Les symptômes de surdosage sont des étourdissements, de la somnolence, des nausées, des vomissements, une perte d'appétit, des douleurs abdominales, des céphalées, un jaunissement de la peau ou des yeux, du sang dans les urines, des évanouissements.
Conservation
Conservez le médicament à la température ambiante entre 59-77 °F (15-25 °C) à l’abri de la lumière et de l'humidité, hors de portée des enfants et des animaux domestiques.
