Bactrim è un prodotto antibatterico sintetico. Bactrim è indicato per il trattamento di polmonite e altre malattie delle vie respiratorie, malattie dei sistemi gastrointestinali e dei sistemi urogenitali, malattie causate da infezioni batteriche che si sviluppano dopo l'intervento chirurgico e altro. Il farmaco si compone da sulfametossazolo e trimetoprim. Insieme, questi farmaci combattono contro lo streptococco, stafilococco, pneumococcho, bacillo, dissenteria, febbre, tifoide, E. coli, Proteus, ed è inefficace contro il Mycobacterium tuberculosis, spirochete, Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Indicazioni
Da ingerire con un bicchier d'acqua, 2-3 volte al giorno, a stomaco pieno o vuoto. Il dosaggio dipende dal tipo e dalla gravità dell'infezione, quindi si consiglia di prendere la medicina come prescritto dal medico.
Precauzioni
Prima di iniziare il trattamento con Bactrim bisogna informare il proprio medico se si soffre di disturbi come asma, reni o fegato. Attenzione l’assunzione del farmaco potrebbe causare. Evitare di esporsi alla luce solare.
Controindicazioni
Non è possibile l’uso del farmaco a donne incinte o che allattano e a pazienti che risultano allergici al farmaco e che soffrono di anemia causata da carenza di acido folico.
Possibili effetti collaterali
Gli effetti collaterali possono essere i seguenti: orticaria, difficoltà respiratorie, gonfiore al viso, gonfiore delle labbra, della lingua o della gola, febbre, mal di gola, mal di testa, presenza di gravi vesciche, pelle pallida, ecchimosi o sanguinamento, diarrea acquosa con sangue,allucinazioni, rallentamento del battito cardiaco, polso debole, nausea, mal di stomaco, riduzione o totale assenza di minzione di urina rispetto al normale. Se si verifica uno degli effetti indesiderati elencati sopra è necessario contattare il medico.
Interazioni farmacologiche
Bisogna informare il proprio medico di tutti i farmaci che si possono utilizzare prima di iniziare il trattamento con Bactrim. Bactrim potrebbe modificare gli effetti dei seguenti medicinali: farmaci anti-diabete, diuretici, ciclosporina, digossina, vaccini, antidepressivi triciclici. Può essere co-somministrato con dofetilide o metenamina.
Dose mancata
Assumere la dose dimenticata non appena possibile. Se è quasi ora della dose successiva basta non assumerla e tornare ad assumere il farmaco come previsto.
Sovradosaggio
Conservazione
Conservare il farmaco a temperatura ambiente tra i 15 e i 25 gradi °C (59-77 gradi F) lontano dalla luce e dall'umidità da bambini e animali domestici.
