Famvir est un médicament antiviral. Il ralentit la croissance et la propagation du virus de l'herpès afin que le corps puisse combattre l'infection. Famvir ne traite pas l'herpès, mais il peut diminuer les symptômes de l'infection. Il est utilisé pour traiter les infections causées par des virus de l’herpès. Les maladies causées par des virus de l'herpès incluent l'herpès génital, l’herpès labial, le zona et la varicelle.
Posologie
Prenez ce médicament exactement comme il a été prescrit pour vous. Prenez chaque dose avec un verre plein d'eau, avec ou sans nourriture. La dose pour le traitement de l'herpès génital est de 1000 mg deux fois par jour pendant une journée.Pour traiter l’herpès labial récidivant il faut prendre 1500 mg une seule fois. Pour supprimer l'herpès génital récurrent prenez 250 mg deux fois par jour pendant 1 an. Pour le traitement du zona vous devez prendre 500 mg toutes les huit heures pendant une semaine. Pour l'herpès labial et l'herpès génital la dose est de 500 mg de Famvir deux fois par jour pendant 5-10 jours.
Précautions
Ne laissez pas les zones infectées entrer en contact avec d'autres personnes. Évitez de toucher une zone infectée, puis de toucher vos yeux. Lavez-vous fréquemment les mains pour éviter de transmettre l'infection aux autres.
Contre-indications
Ne l'utilisez pas si vous y êtes allergique, si vous avez une maladie rénale,si vous êtes enceinte ou allaitez.
Effets secondaires possibles
Obtenez de l'aide médicale d'urgence si vous avez un de ces signes: une allergie, des vertiges, une diarrhée, des nausées ou de la fièvre.
Interaction des médicaments

Omission de dose
Prenez la dose oubliée dès que possible. Sautez-la s'il est temps pour votre prochaine dose. Ne prenez pas de doses supplémentaires pour compenser la dose oubliée.
Surdosage
Les symptômes du surdosage sont inconnus. Cherchez de l’attention médicale d'urgence si vous pensez que vous avez utilisé trop de médicament.
Conservation
Conservez vos médicaments à la température ambiante entre 59-77 F (15-25 C). Conservez-les à l'écart de l'humidité et de la lumière. Gardez-les hors de portée des enfants et loin des animaux domestiques.
