Arcoxia appartiene ad un gruppo di farmaci chiamati cicloossigenasi-2 (COX-2) inibitori specifici. Il farmaco viene utilizzato per il trattamento acuto e cronico dei segni e dei sintomi dell'osteoartrosi e dell'artrite reumatoide, della spondilite anchilosante garantendo il sollievo in situazioni di problematiche muscoloscheletriche croniche e dal dolore acuto. L'utilizzo di questo farmaco non danneggia il tratto gastrointestinale.
Indicazioni
Precauzioni
Le donne in gravidanza ed i paziente con allergia, dolore toracico, diabete, malattie cardiache, ipertensione, ipokaliemia o convulsioni non devono utilizzare il farmaco. Evitare di fumare durante il trattamento. Assumere Arcoxia solo quando prescritto dal medico.
Controindicazioni
Non usare Arcoxia se si è allergici a uno qualsiasi dei suoi componenti. Le donne in gravidanza o in periodo d'allattamento ed i pazienti che soffrono di asma, di angina,di attacco cardiaco o che hanno un'arteria del cuore bloccata e quelli che soffrono di malattie al rene o al fegato,di sanguinamento gastrointestinale, di iperkaliemia , di ipertensione o del morbo di Crohn non devono utilizzare il farmaco.
Possibili effetti collaterali
Cercare immediatamente assistenza medica d'emergenza se si manifesta uno dei seguenti sintomi di un allergia: astenia, disturbi, dolori del corpo,debolezza e stanchezza, iperidrosi, depressione o conati di vomito.
Interazioni farmacologiche
Informare il proprio medico circa tutti i farmaci in uso, facendo particolarmente attenzione riguardo a warfarin, agli inibitori dell'enzima di conversione dell'angiotensina, all'acido acetilsalicilico e alla rifampicina.
Dose mancata
Prendere la dose dimenticata non appena possibile. Saltare la dose, se è tempo per la dose successiva. Non prendere dosi extra per compensare le dosi dimenticate.
Sovradosaggio
Se si pensa di aver assunto una dose eccessiva del farmaco cercare immediatamente assistenza medica d'emergenza. Consultare il proprio medico o farmacista per ulteriori informazioni.
Conservazione
Conservare il farmaco a temperatura ambiente tra i 59-86 F (15-30 C°). Conservare lontano da umidità e luce. Tenere fuori dalla portata di bambini ed animali domestici.
