Feldene se encuentra en un grupo de medicamentos llamados antiinflamatorios no esteroideos (AINE). Funciona reduciendo las hormonas que causan inflamación y dolor en el cuerpo. Piroxicam se usa para tratar el dolor o la inflamación causada por la artritis.
Instrucciones
Tome este medicamento exactamente como se lo indique su médico.Tome este medicamento por vía oral, generalmente una vez al día con un vaso lleno de agua. Si le produce malestar estomacal mientras toma este medicamento, tómelo con alimentos, leche o un antiácido. La dosis recomendada es 20 mg. Puede llevar hasta 2 semanas de uso de este medicamento antes de que sus síntomas mejoren.
Precauciones
Antes de tomar Feldene, dígale a su médico si usted es alérgico a alguna droga, o si tiene pólipos en su nariz, asma, enfermedad cardíaca, ataque cardíaco, hemorragia del hígado o del riñón. No beba alcohol. El alcohol puede aumentar el riesgo de sangrado del estómago que causa piroxicam. Evite la exposición a la luz solar o rayos UV artificiales. No utilice ninguna otra receta para el resfriado, alergias, o medicinas para el dolor sin antes hablar con su médico.
Contraindicaciones
No use esta medicina si usted es alérgico al piroxicam, a la aspirina u otros AINE, si usted está embarazada o amamantando.
Los posibles efectos secundarios
Obtenga ayuda médica de emergencia si usted tiene dolor en el pecho, fiebre, urticaria, heces con sangre, hinchazón de la cara, labios, orinar menos de lo habitual, convulsiones, dificultad para respirar, problemas de visión o el equilibrio. Efectos secundarios de menor gravedad pueden incluir: zumbido en los oídos, picazón de la piel, hinchazón, visión borrosa, malestar estomacal, mareos, diarrea, gas.
Interacciones con otros medicamentos
Antes de tomar Feldene, dígale a su médico si está tomando alguno de los siguientes medicamentos: litio, esteroides (prednisona), anticoagulantes (warfarina), metotrexato, diuréticos (furosemida), inhibidores de la ECA (ramipril, captopril, lisinopril, enalapril), no -esteroides anti-inflamatorios no esteroidales (meloxicam, flurbiprofeno), antidepresivos (citalopram, fluoxetina, fluvoxamina). Dígale a su médico acerca de todos los medicamentos con receta y de venta libre, vitaminas, minerales, productos herbarios.
Dosis olvidada
Tome la dosis que olvidó tan pronto como sea posible. No tome la dosis olvidada si es hora para su próxima dosis. No tome más medicina para alcanzar la dosis pasada.
Sobredosis
Si usted piensa que tiene una sobredosis de la medicina debe buscar ayuda médica de inmediato. Los síntomas de sobredosis son dolor de estómago, náuseas, vómitos desmayos, somnolencia, heces con sangre, coma.
Almacenamiento
Guarde el medicamento a temperatura ambiente entre 68-77 grados F (20-25 grados C) lejos de la luz y la humedad.
