Feldene (Piroxicam)
Informations générales
Feldene est dans un groupe de médicaments appelés anti-inflammatoires non stéroïdiens (AINS). Il agit en réduisant les hormones qui provoquent l'inflammation et la douleur dans le corps. Le piroxicam est utilisé pour traiter la douleur ou l'inflammation provoquées par l'arthrite.
Posologie
Prenez ce médicament exactement comme il a été prescrit pour vous. Prenez-le par voie orale, une fois par jour avec un verre plein d'eau. Si vous sentez des maux d'estomac pendant que vous prenez ce médicament, prenez-le avec la nourriture, du lait ou un antiacide. La dose recommandée est 20 mg. Cela peut prendre jusqu'à 2 semaines d'utilisation de ce médicament avant que vos symptômes s'améliorent.
Précautions
Avant de prendre Feldene, avertissez votre médecin si vous êtes allergique aux médicaments ou si vous avez des polypes dans le nez, l'asthme, des maladies cardiaques, une crise cardiaque, l’hémorragie, une maladie du foie ou des reins. Ne buvez pas d'alcool. L'alcool peut augmenter le risque de saignement de l'estomac provoqué par le piroxicam. Évitez l'exposition au soleil ou aux rayons ultraviolets artificiels. N’utilisez pas d'autres médicaments en vente libre contre le rhume, les allergies ou contre la douleur sans consulter au préalable votre médecin.
Contre-indications
N’utilisez pas ce médicament si vous êtes allergique au piroxicam, à l'aspirine ou aux autres AINS, si vous êtes enceinte ou allaitez.
Effets secondaires possibles
Obtenez de l'aide médicale d'urgence si vous avez des douleurs thoraciques, une fièvre, l’urticaire, des selles sanglantes, une enflure du visage, des lèvres, des mictions moins fréquentes que d'habitude, la saisie, la difficulté à respirer, des problèmes de vision ou de l'équilibre. Des effets secondaires moins graves peuvent inclure: le bourdonnement dans les oreilles, des démangeaisons cutanées, des ballonnements, des troubles de la vision, des maux d'estomac, des étourdissements, une diarrhée, du gaz.
Interaction des médicaments
Avant de prendre Feldene, avertissez votre médecin si vous prenez un des médicaments suivants: le lithium, des corticoïdes (prednisone), un anticoagulant (warfarine), le méthotrexate, les diurétiques (furosémide), des inhibiteurs de l'ECA (ramipril, captopril, le lisinopril, l'énalapril), anti-inflammatoires non-stéroïdiens (méloxicam, le flurbiprofène), les antidépresseurs (citalopram, fluoxétine, fluvoxamine). Informez votre médecin de tous les médicaments sur ordonnance et en vente libre, des vitamines, des minéraux, des produits à base de plantes.
Omission de dose
Prenez la dose oubliée dès que possible. Sautez-la s'il est temps pour votre prochaine dose. Ne prenez pas de doses supplémentaires pour compenser la dose oubliée.
Surdosage
Si vous pensez que vous avez une surdose du médicament, cherchez de l’aide médicale d'urgence immédiatement. Les symptômes de surdose sont des douleurs d'estomac, des nausées, des vomissements, un évanouissement, la somnolence, des selles sanglantes, le coma.
Conservation
Conservez le médicament à la température ambiante entre 68-77 degrés F (20-25 degrés C) à l’abri de la lumière et de l'humidité.
