Informations générales
Zithromax appartient au groupe des macrolides. Il agit sur la croissance cellulaire des bactéries. Il est utilisé pour traiter différents types d'infections telles que les infections respiratoires, les infections cutanées, les otites et les maladies sexuellement transmissibles. Il peut être utilisé dans le traitement des infections de l'oreille moyenne, la pneumonie, l'amygdalite, et l'angine streptococcique chez les enfants.
Posologie
Il est recommandé de prendre Zithromax avec un grand verre d'eau avec ou sans nourriture. Consultez votre médecin concernant la posologie appropriée selon votre cas.
Précautions
Il n'est pas recommandé aux femmes enceintes et à celles allaitant au sein d'utiliser le médicament.
Contre-indications
Il est contre-indiqué de prendre le médicament si vous présentez une hypersensibilité au produit ou si vous prenez des médicaments à base d’azithromycine ou d'érythromycine.
Effets secondaires possibles
Des selles diarrhéiques ou molles, des nausées, des battements de coeur irréguliers, des douleurs abdominales et des vomissements, une perte d'appétit, des urines foncées, des selles de couleur d'argile, de la fièvre, des éruptions cutanées, des rougeurs, des maux de tête, sont les effets secondaires courants. Si vous ressentez l'un des effets secondaires énumérés ci-dessus, vous devriez appeler votre médecin immédiatement.
Interaction des médicaments
L’utilisation de Zithromax est déconseillée avec des antiacides à base d’aluminium ou de magnésium (Maalox ou Mylanta).
Omission de dose
Prenez la dose omise dès que possible. Si l’heure de la prochaine dose est proche, il suffit de sauter la dose omise et de revenir à votre horaire de prise habituel.
Surdosage
Si vous pensez avoir pris une surdose du médicament, demandez une aide médicale d'urgence immédiatement. Les symptômes de surdosage sont des nausées, des vomissements, des diarrhées et des maux d'estomac.
Conservation
Conservez le médicament à la température ambiante entre 59-77 °F (15-25 °C) à l’abri de la lumière et de l'humidité, hors de portée des enfants et des animaux domestiques. Ne gardez pas le liquide plus de 10 jours.
