Relaxa as veias sanguíneas, o que pode reduzir a quantidade de trabalho que o coração tem de fazer. A forma de libertação prolongada deste medicamento é utilizada para controlar angina crónica estável (causado pelo esforço).
O que devo dizer ao meu médico antes de tomar este medicamento?
Ele precisa de saber se tem alguma das seguintes condições:
- problemas cardiovasculares, baixa pressão sanguínea, batimentos cardíacos irregulares
- doença de fígado
- se já teve algum acidente cardiovascular
- uma reacção invulgar ou alérgica a diltiazem, outros medicamentos, comidas, corantes, ou conservantes
- se está grávida ou a tentar engravida
- se está a amamentar
Como devo tomar este medicamento?
Tome este medicamento por via oral com um copo de água. Siga as indicações na etiqueta da prescrição. Engula-o por inteiro, não esmague o mastigue. Pergunte ao seu médico ou farmacêutico se deve tomar este medicamento com comida. Tome as suas doses em intervalos regulares. Não tome este medicamente mais do que o indicado. Não pare de tomar o medicamento a não ser que tal lhe tenha sido recomendado pelo seu médico ou profissional de saúde. - cisaprida
- Espinheiro-alvar
- pimozida
- ranolazina
- arroz vermelho fermentado

- carbamazepina
- cimetidina
- ciclosporina
- digoxina
- anestesia local ou anestesia geral
- lovastatin
- medicamentos para a ansiedade ou dificuldade em adormecer como midazolam e triazolam
- medicamentos para pressão sanguínea elevada ou problemas cardiovasculares
- quinidina
- rifampina, rifabutina, ou rifapentina

- reacções alérgicas como erupções cutâneas, comichão ou urticária, inchaço do rosto, lábios, ou língua
- confusão, depressão mental
- sensação de desmaio ou tonturas, quedas
- vermelhidão, borbulhas, descamação ou flacidez da pele, incluindo dentro da boca
- batimentos cardíacos lentos, irregulares
- inchaço dos pés e tornozelos
- sangramento anormal ou hematomas, pequenas manchas vermelhas na pele

- constipação ou diarreia
- dificuldade em adormecer

Onde devo guardar o meu medicamento?
Mantenha fora do alcance das crianças num compartimento que crianças pequenas não consigam abrir.
Guarde o medicamento num local com temperatura entre os 15 e 30 graus Centígrados (59 e 86 graus Fahrenheit). Proteja da humidade. Deite fora todos os medicamentos inutilizados após a data de validade expirar.
