Casodex (Bicalutamide)
Información general
Casodex pertenece a un grupo de medicamentos conocidos como antiandrógenos no esteroideos. Se utiliza para tratar el cáncer de próstata que se ha extendido a otras áreas del cuerpo. Se utiliza en combinación con el tratamiento hormonal. Este medicamento actúa bloqueando la acción de las hormonas masculinas en la próstata, la desaceleración del crecimiento de los tumores.
Instrucciones
Tome Casodex exactamente según lo prescrito por su médico. La dosis recomendada para el cáncer de próstata avanzado es un comprimido de 50 mg una vez al día aproximadamente a la misma hora cada día, con o sin alimentos. Casodex se administra en combinación con un agonista de la hormona liberadora de gonadotropina. Los dos fármacos deben iniciarse al mismo tiempo.
Precauciones
Antes de tomar Casodex debe hablar con su médico si usted tiene enfermedad del hígado, hepatitis, cirrosis, insuficiencia hepática, diabetes, anemia u otros problemas de las células sanguíneas, problemas pulmonares o respiratorios, cualquier alergia. Este medicamento puede causar mareos o somnolencia. No conduzca o realice tareas que requieren estar alerta.
Contraindicaciones
Usted no debe tomar Casodex si usted es alérgico a la bicalutamida o a cualquiera de los componentes de la medicación, son mujeres, o si tiene en estadio temprano (localizado) el cáncer de próstata que de lo contrario se sometería a la espera vigilante. No debe utilizarse en niños.
Posibles efectos secundarios
Busque atención médica de emergencia si usted tiene mareos, dolor de cabeza, anemia, piel seca, estreñimiento, indigestión, sofocos, disminución del apetito, depresión, dolor de estómago, sangre en la orina, problemas para dormir, somnolencia, prurito, náuseas, impotencia, disminución de el deseo sexual, ojos amarillos o la piel, hinchazón de los senos. Si usted nota otros efectos no mencionados anteriormente, póngase en contacto con su médico.
Interacciones con otros medicamentos
Dígale a su médico acerca de todas las medicinas que usted use, especialmente: anticoagulantes (warfarina), bloqueadores de los canales de calcio (nimodipina, verapamil, nifedipina), buspirona, carbamazepina, antidepresivos (fluoxetina, amitriptilina, citalopram, nortriptilina, doxepina), los medicamentos antipsicóticos (clorpromazina , tiotixeno, la loxapina), benzodiazepinas (clobazam, triazolam lorazepam, midazolam), claritromicina, medicamentos del cornezuelo del centeno (ergotamina, dihidroergotamina, bromocriptina), fármacos para problemas de erección en hombres (tadalafilo, vardenafilo, sildenafilo). La interacción entre dos medicaciones no siempre significa que usted debe dejar de tomar uno de ellos. Dígale a su médico o sobre todos los medicamentos, sin receta médica-, y los medicamentos a base de hierbas que esté tomando.
Dosis omitida
Tome la dosis que olvidó tan pronto como sea posible. No tome la dosis olvidada si es la hora para su próxima dosis. No tome más medicina para alcanzar la dosis pasada.
Sobredosis
Si usted piensa que ha tomado mucho de la medicina busque ayuda médica de emergencia a la vez. Los síntomas de sobredosis son dolor de pecho, hinchazón de las mamas, aumento de los niveles de enzimas hepáticas, los sofocos.
Almacenaje
Guarde el medicamento a temperatura ambiente entre 68-77 grados F (20-25 grados C) lejos de la luz y la humedad. Mantenga todos los medicamentos fuera del alcance de los niños y las mascotas.
