Nimotop è utilizzato per prevenire i danni cerebrali causati dalla riduzione del flusso sanguigno al cervello causato da aneurisma, vaso sanguigno dilatato o rottura di un vaso nel cervello. Questo farmaco può anche essere utilizzato per diminuire i problemi dovuti ad un ictus.
Indicazioni
Assumere Nimotop esattamente come prescritto dal medico. Prendere ogni dose con un bicchiere pieno d'acqua. Assumere Nimotop a stomaco vuoto, un'ora prima o due ore dopo i pasti. L'assunzione di Nimotop di solito inizia appena dopo l'inizio dell'emorragia nel cervello, di solito entro 4 giorni. Non prendere antiacidi per 2 ore prima o dopo l'assunzione del farmaco.
Precauzioni
Prima di iniziare il trattamento informare il proprio medico se si hanno:malattia del fegato, bassa pressione sanguigna, ipertensione, problemi cardiaci, rallentamento del battito cardiaco, insufficienza cardiaca congestizia, infarto. Questo farmaco può provocare vertigini. Non guidare o svolgere attività che richiedono attenzione. Limitare l'assunzione di bevande alcoliche in quanto l'alcol può causare bassa pressione sanguigna, sonnolenza o vertigini. Evitare di mangiare pompelmo o bere succo di pompelmo.
Controindicazioni
Evitare l'assunzione del farmaco se siete allergici ad esso o se siete in gravidanza o state allattando.
Possibili effetti collaterali
Cercare immediatamente assistenza medica d'emergenza se si hanno:vertigini, stordimento, rossore o gonfiore alle caviglie o ai piedi, battito cardiaco lento o veloce, svenimenti, gonfiore allo stomaco, dolori addominali, disturbi visivi, difficoltà respiratorie, gonfiore del viso, della lingua, della gola, prurito. Se si notano altri effetti non elencati sopra, contattare il medico.
Interazioni farmacologiche
Si informi il medico circa tutti i farmaci in uso, in particolare riguardo a:beta-bloccanti (betaxololo, propranololo, metoprololo), ACE-inibitori (captopril, enalapril, fosinopril, lisinopril), calcio-antagonisti (verapamil, nifedipina, diltiazem, felodipina). Si noti inoltre che l'interazione fra due farmaci non necessariamente deve portare ad una sospensione dell'utilizzo di uno dei due farmaci. Si informi il medico circa tutti i farmaci in uso compresi i farmaci da prescrizione,quelli da banco e i prodotti erboristici.
Dose mancata
Prendere la dose dimenticata non appena possibile. Saltare la dose, se è tempo per la dose successiva. Non prendere dosi extra per compensare le dosi dimenticate.
Sovradosaggio
Se si pensa di aver assunto una dose eccessiva del farmaco cercare immediatamente assistenza medica d'emergenza. I sintomi da sovradosaggio sono:debolezza, dolore al torace, svenimenti, vertigini, disturbi dell'eloquio, confusione, battito cardiaco veloce o lento.
Conservazione
Conservare il farmaco a temperatura ambiente tra i 59-86 gradi F (15-30 gradi C) lontano dalla luce e dall'umidità. Non conservare in bagno. Conservare il farmaco lontano dalla portata dei bambini e degli animali domestici.
