- actualmente a tomar um antibiótico para uma infecção
- febre
- doença hepática
- fortes dores abdominais, inchaço ou abaulamento
- reacção invulgar ou alérgica a loperamida, outros medicamentos, alimentos, corantes, ou conservantes
- se está grávida ou a tentar engravidar
- se está a amamentar
Como devo tomar este medicamento?
Administração oral com um copo de água. Tome em intervalos regulares. Não exceda as doses prescritas.
Fale com o pediatra quanto à utilização deste medicamento em crianças. Poderão ser necessários cuidados especiais.
Sobredosagem: Se pensa que poderá ter tomado uma dose superior ao prescrito contacte o Centro de Informação Antivenenos ou os Serviços de Urgência de imediato.
NOTA: Este medicamento é apenas para si. Não o partilhe com outros.
Que fazer se falhei uma toma?
Não se aplica. Este medicamento não é para uso regular. Só tome este medicamento enquanto continuar a ter movimentos intestinais soltos. Não tome mais que o recomendado pelo folheto da embalagem ou pelo seu profissional de saúde.
O que pode interferir com este medicamento?
Não tome este medicamento com nenhum dos seguintes:
- alosetron
Este medicamento pode também interagir com os seguintes:
- quinidina
- ritonavir
- saquinavir

Que cuidados devo ter enquanto tomar este medicamento?
Não tome este medicamento durante mais de 1 semana sem indicação do seu médico ou profissional de saúde. Se após dois dias os sintomas não começarem a apresentar melhorias, pode ter um problema que necessita de uma avaliação mais aprofundada. Consulte o seu médico ou profissional de saúde imediatamente se desenvolver febre, dores abdominais fortes, inchaço ou abaulamento, ou se você tiver diarreia ou fezes sangrentas/pretas. Pode ficar sonolento ou com tonturas. Não conduza, utilize máquinas, ou faça qualquer coisa que exija alerta mental até saber como é afectado por este medicamento. Não se levante ou sente rapidamente, especialmente se for um paciente mais velho, isto reduz o risco de tonturas ou desmaios. O álcool pode aumentar sonolência e tonturas. Evite bebidas alcoólicas.
Pode sentir secura da boca. Mastigar pastilhas ou chupar rebuçados e beber muita água pode ajudar. Contacte o seu médico se o problema persistir ou agravar. Beber bastante água também pode ajudar a prevenir a desidratação que pode ocorrer com a diarreia.
Os doentes idosos podem ter uma resposta mais variável aos efeitos deste medicamento, e são mais susceptíveis aos efeitos da desidratação.
Que efeitos secundários posso notar com a toma deste medicamento?
Efeitos secundários que deve reportar ao seu médico de imediato:
- reacções alérgicas como erupções cutâneas, comichão ou urticária, inchaço da face, lábios ou língua
- inchado, sentimento de inchaço no seu abdómen
- visão turva
- perda de apetite
- dores de estômago
Efeitos secundários que normalmente não requerem atenção médica (diga ao seu médico ou profissional de saúde se persistem, ou se são incómodos):
- obstipação
- sonolência ou tonturas
- boca seca
- náuseas, vómitos
Esta lista pode não descrever todos os efeitos secundários possíveis.
Onde devo guardar o meu medicamento?
Mantenha-o fora do alcance das crianças.
Conservar à temperatura ambiente entre 15 e 25 graus C (59 e 77 graus F). Manter o recipiente bem fechado. Elimine qualquer medicamento não utilizado após a data de expiração.
