Antabuse (Disulfiram)
Informations générales
Antabuse est prescrit pour traiter l'alcoolisme chronique. Son composant actif - le bisdisulfirame agit en bloquant la déshydrogénase de l’alcool. En résultat, la concentration d'acétaldéhyde dans le sang augmente et provoque certaines sensations désagréables telles que des nausées, des vomissements, des bouffées de chaleur, de la tachycardie, la baisse de la pression artérielle, etc.
Posologie
Il est recommandé de prendre le médicament suivant la prescription du médecin. A prendre oralement au moins 12 heures après une consommation d'alcool. Prenez-le avec un grand verre d'eau. N’excédez pas la dose prescrite.
Précautions
Avant de commencer votre traitement à l’Antabuse, informez votre médecin de tous les états de santé, en particulier des troubles cardiaques, des ulcères gastriques ou duodénaux, des troubles de la circulation cérébrale et de psychose disulfirame dans le passé. Les personnes âgées peuvent être plus sensibles au médicament.
Contre-indications
Les patients présentant les états suivants doivent éviter d’utiliser le médicament: asthme bronchique, emphysème, tuberculose pulmonaire, maladies graves du système cardio-vasculaire, névrite du nerf auditif, glaucome, névrite optique, insuffisance hépatique grave, diabète, hyperthyroïdie, maladie mentale grave, ulcère peptique, maladies rénales, tumeur maligne, polynévrite, femmes enceintes et celles en période d’allaitement au sein, réactions allergiques au médicament.
Effets secondaires possibles
Les effets secondaires les plus fréquents incluent: nervosité, maux de tête, éruptions cutanées somnolence, acné, changements dans la vision, arrière-goût d'ail. Des effets indésirables plus rares, mais graves peuvent survenir: picotements aux mains ou aux pieds, fatigue, faiblesse, fortes douleurs à l'estomac, perte d'appétit, nausées, vomissements, urine foncée, jaunissement des yeux ou de la peau. Si vous ressentez des effets secondaires graves, devenant gênants et graves, avisez-en votre médecin et demandez immédiatement une aide médicale.
Interaction des médicaments
Informez votre médecin de tous les médicaments que vous pouvez utiliser, en particulier sur les inhibiteurs de la MAO tels que la phénelzine (Nardil), l’isocarboxazide (Marplan), ou la tranylcypromine (Parnate); les antidépresseurs tricycliques tels que l'imipramine (Tofranil), l'amitriptyline (Elavil), la doxépine (Sinequan ), la nortriptyline (Pamelor), l'isoniazide (Nydrazid), la phénytoïne (Dilantin), la warfarine (Coumadin), le métronidazole (Flagyl), la théophylline (Theo-Dur), les benzodiazépines tels que le diazépam (Valium), l'alprazolam (Xanax), le clorazépate (Tranxène ), le témazépam (Restoril), le chlordiazépoxide (Librium), le triazolam (Halcion), le lithium (Lithobid, Eskalith, autres).
Omission de dose
Prenez la dose omise dès que possible. S'il est presque l’heure de la prochaine dose, il suffit de sauter la dose omise et de revenir à votre horaire de prise habituel.
Surdosage
Si vous pensez avoir pris une surdose du médicament, demandez une aide médicale d'urgence immédiatement. Les symptômes de surdosage se manifestent sous forme de perte de coordination, de nausées, de vomissements, d’étourdissements, d’engourdissements, de picotements et de convulsions.
Conservation
A conserver à température ambiante de 59 à 86 °F (15-30 °C) à l’abri de l'humidité et de la lumière du soleil. Gardez le médicament à l’abri de l'humidité (salle de bain).
