Dilantin es un medicamento antiepiléptico, también llamado anticonvulsivo. Funciona reduciendo los impulsos en el cerebro que causan convulsiones. Dilantin se usa para controlar las convulsiones. Se utiliza para tratar las convulsiones, para prevenir la epilepsia postraumática, arritmias ventriculares, algunas formas del síndrome de Meniere. Su médico determinará si es el medicamento adecuado para usted.
Instrucciones
Si usted está tomando Dilantin para evitar convulsiones, siga tomando la medicina aunque se sienta bien. Es posible que haya un aumento en convulsiones si deja de tomarla. No cambie su dosis de Dilantin sin el consejo de su médico. No triture, mastique, rompa, o abra una cápsula de liberación prolongada. Agite bien la suspensión Dilantin oral antes de medir una dosis. La dosis prescrita es de 5 mg por kilo en los adultos y 7.4 mg por kilo en los niños. Corriga la ingesta de la droga con su médico si usted es paciente de edad avanzada, con diabetes y enfermedad del riñón o enfermedad del hígado.
Precauciones
Evite el uso de la medicina si sufre enfermedad del hígado o enfermedad del riñón, porfiria, si esta embarazada. Pacientes de origen asiático pueden tener un riesgo mayor de desarrollar una reacción cutánea rara pero grave de Dilantin. Que pueden perjudicar su pensamiento o reacciones. Tenga cuidado si maneja o hace algo que demande que se mantenga alerta. Evite el uso de la droga con los antiácidos.
Contraindicaciones
Tenga cuidado si usted tiene enfermedad del hígado o enfermedad del riñón, leucocitopenia, problemas cardíacos, diabetes, adelgazamiento, embarazo, porfiria, también si se cura con isoniacida, teturamom o aspirina.
Los posibles efectos secundarios
El medicamento puede causar mareos, confusión, temblor, ataxia, nistagmus, la enfermedad, náuseas, problemas con la piel, alergias, diarrea, anemia, la visualización de la diabetes, hiperplasia, los problemas con los huesos, también tiene pensamientos de suicidio o de querer hacerse daño. Llame a su médico por asesoramiento médico sobre los efectos secundarios.
Interacción con otros medicamentos
Dosis olvidada
Tome la dosis que se ha olvidado tan pronto como sea posible. No tome la dosis olvidada si es la hora para su próxima dosis. No tome más medicina para alcanzar la dosis pasada.
Sobredosis
Llamar la atención médica de emergencia si usted piensa que ha usado demasiado de esta medicina. Los síntomas de sobredosis pueden incluir movimientos espasmódicos del ojo, trastornos del habla, pérdida del equilibrio, temblores rigidez muscular o debilidad, náuseas, vómitos, sensación de mareo, desmayo, y respiración lenta o superficial. Almacenamiento
