Mysoline è un farmaco antiepilettico, anticonvulsivante. Viene usato per controllare le convulsioni. Mysoline può essere usato da solo o in combinazione con altri farmaci anti-crisi. Mysoline agisce diminuendo l'eccitabilità delle cellule cerebrali. Questo aiuta a prevenire un anomala attività elettrica e a a partire da tale attività mantenere la diffusione in altre parti del cervello.
Indicazioni
Precauzioni
Prima di iniziare il trattamento informare il proprio medico se si hanno:porfiria, anemia o altre malattie vascolari, depressione,istinti suicidi, eventuali allergie.
Controindicazioni
Non prendere Mysoline se si è allergico ad esso, a primidone, a fenobarbital o uno qualsiasi dei componenti inattivi del medicinale, se siete in gravidanza o se avete porfiria.
Possibili effetti collaterali
Cercare immediatamente assistenza medica d'emergenza se si hanno:biascicamento, perdita di equilibrio o di coordinazione, ecchimosi o sanguinamento, vertigini, sonnolenza, nausea, vomito, perdita dell'appetito, visione offuscata, impotenza, perdita di interesse per il sesso, orticaria, difficoltà respiratorie, gonfiore del volto, delle labbra, della lingua. Se si notano altri effetti non elencati sopra, contattare il medico.
Interazioni farmacologiche
Si informi il medico circa tutti i farmaci in uso, in particolare riguardo a:barbiturici (Butalbital, pentobarbital, fenobarbital, amobarbital), farmaci antidepressivi (nefazodone, vilazodone, bupropione), benzodiazepine (diazepam, lorazepam, clorazepato, triazolam), farmaci antimicotici (fluconazolo, ketoconazolo , itraconazolo), farmaci per l'HIV o l'AIDS (indinavir, atazanavir, fosamprenavir, ritonavir), narcotici (codeina, morfina, ossicodone), farmaci sequestro (carbamazepina, fenitoina). Si noti inoltre che l'interazione fra due farmaci non necessariamente deve portare ad una sospensione dell'utilizzo di uno dei due farmaci. Si informi il medico circa tutti i farmaci in uso compresi i farmaci da prescrizione,quelli da banco e i prodotti erboristici.
Dose mancata
Prendere la dose dimenticata non appena possibile. Saltare la dose, se è tempo per la dose successiva. Non prendere dosi extra per compensare le dosi dimenticate.
Sovradosaggio
Se si pensa di aver assunto una dose eccessiva del farmaco cercare immediatamente assistenza medica d'emergenza. I sintomi da sovradosaggio non sono noti.
Conservazione
Conservare il farmaco a temperatura ambiente tra i 59-86 gradi F (15-30 gradi C) lontano dalla luce e dall'umidità. Non conservare in bagno. Conservare il farmaco ontano dalla portata dei bambini e degli animali domestici.
