Oxytrol (Oxybutynin)
Información general
Oxytrol pertenece a la clase de medicamentos conocidos como antiespasmódicos. Reduce los espasmos musculares de la vejiga y el tracto urinario. Instrucciones
Precauciones
Antes de tomar Oxytrol usted debe hablar con su médico si usted tiene enfermedad del hígado, insuficiencia hepática, cirrosis, hepatitis, enfermedades renales, insuficiencia renal, glaucoma, problemas digestivos, enfermedad por reflujo gastroesofágico, dificultad para orinar, agrandamiento de la próstata (hiperplasia prostática benigna), cualquier alergias. Dígale a su médico si está embarazada o dando de lactar. Este medicamento puede causar mareos, somnolencia o visión borrosa. No conduzca o realice tareas que requieran estar alerto. Limite el consumo de las bebidas alcohólicas. Éste puede aumentar algunos de los efectos secundarios. Evite sobrecalentarse o deshidratarse.
Contraindicaciones
Usted no debe tomar Oxytrol si usted es alérgico a la oxibutinina o a cualquiera de los componentes de la medicación, o si tiene pérdida aguda de sangre, pérdida de tono de los músculos intestinales, obstrucción intestinal, megacolon, miastenia gravis, uropatía obstructiva, parcial o una obstrucción completa del tracto gastrointestinal, incontrolada glaucoma de ángulo estrecho, retención urinaria o la obstrucción. No debe ser utilizado por un niño menor de 5 años de edad.
Posibles efectos secundarios
Busque atención médica de emergencia si usted tiene enrojecimiento de la piel, picazón, sequedad de boca, somnolencia, mareos, visión borrosa, dolor de cabeza, debilidad, náuseas, estreñimiento, problemas para dormir (insomnio), ojos secos, dolor de estómago, el ritmo cardíaco irregular, hinchazón de la cara , labios, lengua, dificultad para respirar, urticaria. Si usted nota otros efectos no mencionados anteriormente, póngase en contacto con su médico.
Interacciones con otros medicamentos
Dígale a su médico acerca de todas las medicinas que usted use, especialmente: antibióticos (elithromycin, claritromicina, eritromicina), medicamentos antifúngicos (fluconazol, ketoconazol, itraconazol), medicamentos (inhibidores de la acetilcolinesterasa rivastigmina, donepezilo, tacrina), anticolinérgicos (atropina, clidinio, haloperidol, tolterodina), pramlintida. La interacción entre dos medicaciones no siempre significa que usted debe dejar de tomar uno de ellos. Dígale a su médico o sobre todos los medicamentos, sin receta médica, y los medicamentos a base de hierbas que esté tomando.
Dosis omitida
Tome la dosis que se ha olvidado tan pronto como sea posible. No tome la dosis olvidada si es hora para su próxima dosis. No tome más medicina para alcanzar la dosis pasada.
Sobredosis
Si usted piensa que ha tomado mucho de la medicina busque ayuda médica de emergencia a la vez. Los síntomas de sobredosis son excitación inusual, fiebre, vómitos, agitación, latidos cardíacos rápidos o irregulares.
Almacenaje
Guarde el medicamento a temperatura ambiente entre 68-77 grados F (20-25 grados C) lejos de la luz, el calor y la humedad. No guarde los medicamentos en el cuarto de baño. Mantenga todos los medicamentos fuera del alcance de los niños y las mascotas.
