Oxytrol appartiene alla classe dei farmaci noti come antispastici. Riduce gli spasmi muscolari della vescica e delle vie urinarie. Il farmaco migliora la capacità di controllare la minzione (incontinenza) aumentando la minzione notturna. Oxytrol agisce bloccando recettori specifici (detti recettori muscarinici) nella vescica, contribuendo a rilassare i muscoli della vescica.
Indicazioni
Precauzioni
Prima di iniziare il trattamento informare il proprio medico se si hanno:malattie epatiche, insufficienza epatica, cirrosi, epatite, malattie renali, insufficienza renale, glaucoma, problemi digestivi, malattia da reflusso gastroesofageo, difficoltà nella minzione, ingrossamento della prostata (iperplasia prostatica benigna), qualsiasi allergie. Lasciate che il vostro medico si occupi di voi se siete incinta o state allattando. Questo farmaco può provocare vertigini, sonnolenza o causare visione offuscata. Non guidare o svolgere attività che richiedono attenzione. Limitare l'assunzione di bevande alcoliche in quanto l'alcol aumentare alcuni degli effetti collaterali. Evitare che il vostro corpo si surriscaldi o si disidrati.
Controindicazioni
Non sprendere Oxytrol se siete allergici all'ossibutinina o ad uno qualsiasi degli eccipienti del farmaco, se si soffre di perdita acuta di sangue, perdita di tono dei muscoli intestinali, occlusione intestinale, megacolon, miastenia gravis, uropatia ostruttiva, parziale o completa ostruzione del tratto gastrointestinale, incontrollato glaucoma ad angolo chiuso, ritenzione urinaria o ostruzione. I bambini con età inferiore ai 5 anni non devono assumere il farmaco.
Possibili effetti collaterali
Cercare immediatamente assistenza medica d'emergenza se si hanno:arrossamento cutaneo, prurito, secchezza delle fauci, sonnolenza, vertigini, annebbiamento della vista, mal di testa, debolezza, nausea, costipazione, disturbi del sonno (insonnia), secchezza degli occhi, mal di stomaco, battito cardiaco irregolare, gonfiore del viso , labbra, lingua, difficoltà respiratorie, orticaria. Se si notano altri effetti non elencati sopra, contattare il medico.
Interazioni farmacologiche
Si informi il medico circa tutti i farmaci in uso, in particolare riguardo a:antibiotici (elithromycin, claritromicina, eritromicina), farmaci antimicotici (fluconazolo, ketoconazolo, itraconazolo), farmaci inibitori dell'acetilcolinesterasi (rivastigmina, donepezil, tacrina), anticolinergici (atropina, clidinium, aloperidolo, tolterodina), pramlintide. Si noti inoltre che l'interazione fra due farmaci non necessariamente deve portare ad una sospensione dell'utilizzo di uno dei due farmaci. Si informi il medico circa tutti i farmaci in uso compresi i farmaci da prescrizione,quelli da banco e i prodotti erboristici.
Dose mancata
Prendere la dose dimenticata non appena possibile. Saltare la dose, se è tempo per la dose successiva. Non prendere dosi extra per compensare le dosi dimenticate.
Sovradosaggio
Se si pensa di aver assunto una dose eccessiva del farmaco cercare immediatamente assistenza medica d'emergenza. I sintomi da sovradosaggio sono: insolita eccitazione, febbre, vomito, agitazione, veloce o battito cardiaco irregolare.
Conservazione
Conservare il farmaco a temperatura ambiente tra i 68-77 gradi F (20-25 ° C) lontano dalla luce, calore e umidità. Non conservare in bagno. Conservare il farmaco lontano dalla portata dei bambini e degli animali domestici.
