Eulexin (Flutamide)
Informations générales
Eulexin appartient à une classe de médicaments appelés anti-androgènes (anti-testostérone). Il agit en bloquant les effets de la testostérone, ce qui ralentit la croissance et la propagation du cancer de la prostate. Ce médicament est utilisé pour traiter les hommes atteints de cancer de la prostate et il est utilisé en association avec d'autres médicaments, et parfois avec le traitement par la radiothérapie.
Posologie
Prenez Eulexin conformément aux prescriptions de votre médecin. La dose habituelle recommandée pour le cancer de la prostate est de 250 mg trois fois par jour aux intervalles environ de huit heures. Prenez-le à la même heure chaque jour pour maintenir un taux égal du médicament dans le sang. Il peut être pris avec ou sans nourriture. N'arrêtez pas de prendre ce médicament sans en parler au préalable à votre médecin. L’arrêt de l’utilisation du médicament pourrait permettre au cancer de se propager plus rapidement.
Précautions
Avant de prendre Eulexin vous devriez aviser votre médecin si vous avez une maladie du foie, l'hépatite, la cirrhose, l’insuffisance hépatique, le déficit en glucose-6-phosphate, une réaction allergique aux fèves, des troubles sanguins (méthémoglobinémie ou maladie de l'hémoglobine M), des allergies. Ce médicament peut rarement provoquer le vertige ou la somnolence. Ne conduisez pas de véhicule ou n’effectuez pas d’activité qui exige de la vigilance. Évitez la consommation des boissons alcoolisées. Les personnes âgées peuvent être plus sensibles aux effets secondaires de ce médicament.
Contre-indications
Vous ne devriez pas prendre Eulexin si vous y êtes allergique ou allergique au flutamide ou à l'un des composants inactifs de ce médicament, si vous êtes enceintes ou allaitez, si vous avez une maladie grave du foie.
Effets secondaires possibles
Obtenez de l'aide médicale d'urgence si vous avez des bouffées de chaleur, des éruptions cutanées, une diarrhée, un gonflement des lèvres, de la langue ou du visage, la sensibilité accrue de la peau aux rayons du soleil, des nausées, le jaunissement de la peau ou des yeux, l’urticaire, une perte de libido, l’impuissance, une baisse du nombre de spermatozoïdes, des douleurs abdominales, le gonflement des seins, une perte d'appétit, une décoloration verdâtre de l'urine, des saignements rectaux ou une inflammation, des vomissements, du sang dans l'urine, une difficulté à respirer, des troubles de l'humeur. Si vous remarquez d'autres effets non énumérés ci-dessus, consultez votre médecin.
Interaction des médicaments
Informez votre médecin de tous les autres médicaments que vous utilisez, notamment: les médicaments antifongiques (fluconazole, kétoconazole, itraconazole), les barbituriques (butalbital, phénobarbital, pentobarbital, amobarbital), les inhibiteurs de protéase (atazanavir, indinavir, ritonavir, amprénavir), des anticoagulants (warfarine) . L'interaction entre deux médicaments ne signifie pas toujours que vous devez cesser de prendre l'un d'eux. Informez votre médecin ou le prescripteur de tous les médicaments sur ordonannce, en vente libre et des herbes médicinales que vous prenez.
Omission de dose
Prenez la dose oubliée dès que possible. Sautez la dose oubliée s'il est temps pour votre prochaine dose. Ne prenez pas de doses supplémentaires pour compenser la dose oubliée.
Surdosage
Si vous pensez que vous avez une surdose du médicament, cherchez de l’aide médicale d'urgence immédiatement. Les symptômes de surdosage sont une activité réduite, une respiration lente, des étourdissements, un larmoiement, des poils levés, une perte d'appétit, des vomissements, la sédation.
Conservation
Conservez le médicament à la température ambiante entre 68-77 degrés F (20-25 degrés C) à l’abri de la lumière et de l'humidité. Conservez tous les médicaments hors de portée des enfants et des animaux domestiques.
