Estrace è un farmaco estrogeno indicato per alleviare diverse problematiche legate alla menopausa come vampate di calore, secchezza vaginale e nel prevenire l'osteoporosi nella postmenopausa delle donne. Questo farmaco opera una sostituzione degli estrogeni che le ovaie non producono più.
Indicazioni
Assumere la dose corretta del farmaco prescritta dal proprio medico. Le pillole vanno assunte una volta al giorno. Nelle donne che hanno ancora il ciclo mestruale il farmaco va preso per 23 giorni consecutivi partendo dopo 5 giorni in cui non si è assunto nessun altro medicinale.Dopo di questo il ciclo ritorna normale. Il cerotto è da applicare in una parte del tronco senza peli. Ogni settimana sostituire il cerotto.
Precauzioni
Informare il vostro medico se si hanno malattie del sangue, problemi di circolazione, un ormone correlato al cancro o al sanguinamento vaginale. Un uso continuo potrebbe produrre cancro al seno o attacchi di cuore. Non usare il medicinale durante il periodo di gravidanza.
Controindicazioni
Allergia, la gravidanza, gli estrogeni dipendono dalle neoplasie maligne, emorragie, tromboflebite, pancreatite, insufficienza epatica e porfiria epatica. Usare il farmaco solo per il trattamento del cancro e la malattia tromboembolica.
Possibili effetti collaterali
Chiamare assistenza medica per qualsiasi reazione allergica in presenza di abbronzatura come orticaria, respirazione e gonfiori. Smettere di usare Estrace e chiamare il medico se si presentano gravi effetti collaterali come ad esempio: perdite ematiche vaginali, dolore toracico o sensazione di pesantezza, diffusione del dolore al braccio o alla spalla, nausea, sudorazione, sensazione di malessere generale, debolezza, cefalea, confusione, problemi alla vista, tosse improvvisa, affanno, dolori a uno o ad entrambe le gambe, vomito, perdita di appetito, aumento della sete, debolezza muscolare e ittero.
Interazioni farmacologiche
Il farmaco impedisce il metabolismo dalla ciclosporina e dal suo conseguente aumento dei livelli nel sangue. Potrebbe aumentare il rischio di malattie epatiche. Fare attenzione agli anticoagulanti come il warfarin (Coumadin), carbamazepina (Carbatrol, Tegretol), fenitoina (Dilantin).
Dose mancata
Assumere la dose dimenticata non appena possibile. Se è quasi ora della dose successiva basta non assumerla e tornare ad assumere il farmaco come previsto. Non prendere una dose extra del medicinale per compensare la dose dimenticata.
Overdose
Il sovradosaggio può causare nausea, vomito o emorragia vaginale.
Conservazione
Conservare il farmaco a temperatura ambiente tra i 15-30 °C (59-86 F). Conservare lontano dalla luce e dall'umidità. Tenere fuori dalla portata dei bambini e lontano da animali domestici.
