Provera (Medroxyprogesterone Acetate)

Provera è un progestinico medrossiprogesterone, in altre parole è un ormone femminile che aiuta a regolare l'ovulazione e il ciclo mestruale. E ' indicato per il trattamento di condizioni quali assenza di periodi mestruali o periodi irregolari o anormale sanguinamento uterino. Il medrossiprogesterone è anche usato per ridurre il rischio di iperplasia endometriale durante l'assunzione di estrogeni.
Indicazioni
È indispensabile seguire le istruzioni del proprio medico. Usare il medicinale da 5 o 10 mg una volta al giorno per 5-10 giorni. Non assumere il medicinale in quantità maggiori o per un tempo maggiore di quanto raccomandato. Controllare l’eventuale presenza di noduli al seno una volta al mese. Questo farmaco potrebbe rendere insoliti i risultati di alcuni esami medici. Informare il medico che si assume questo farmaco.
Precauzioni
Evitare di fumare durante il periodo di assunzione del farmaco. Il fumo aumenta notevolmente i rischi di coaguli di sangue. È necessario informare il proprio medico se si soffre di malattie cardiache, rischi di infarti, hypercalcinemia, eccesso di trigliceridi, se si ha avuto un recente aborto spontaneo o si ha effettuato un aborto, se si soffre di forti dolori pelvici, asma, emicrania, epilessia, diabete, malattie renali o depressione.
Controindicazioni
Presenza di Reazioni allergiche ai componenti, problemi nella gravidanza, anomalie nella ghiandola mammaria, sanguinamento vaginale anormale o problematiche nell’allattamento.
Possibili effetti collaterali
Mal di testa, vertigini, insonnia, sonnolenza, dismenorrea, stanchezza, depressione, nausea, tromboflebiti, disordini cerebrovascolari, allergia e erosione della cervice. Dosi elevate possono causare acne, irsutismo, cambiamenti del peso corporeo, gonfiore del volto, ipertermia e alopecia.
Interazioni farmacologiche
È necessario informare il proprio medico sui tipi di medicinali già assunti in passato. Aminoglutetimide diminuisce le concentrazioni plasmatiche di Provera.
Dose mancata
Saltare la dose, se è tempo per la dose successiva. Non prendere una dose extra del medicinale per compensare la dose dimenticata.
Overdose
Il sovradosaggio può causare vertigini, mal di stomaco, nausea, vomito e sanguinamento vaginale. È necessario in questo caso informare immediatamente il medico.
Conservazione
Conservare il farmaco a temperatura ambiente tra i 20-25 gradi °C (68-77 gradi F). Conservare lontano da umidità e luce. Tenere fuori dalla portata dei bambini e lontano da animali domestici.
