Allegra est un antihistaminique qui réduit les effets de l'histamine chimique naturelle dans le corps. L'ingrédient actif est la fexofénadine. Il est utilisé pour traiter les symptômes des allergies saisonnières (rhume des foins) chez les adultes et les enfants. Allegra est également utilisé pour traiter les démangeaisons cutanées et l’urticaire provoquées par une maladie appelée l’urticaire chronique idiopathique.
Posologie
Utilisez Allegra conformément aux prescriptions de votre médecin. Prenez-le avec un verre plein d'eau à l’estomac vide, au moins 1 heure avant ou 2 heures après le repas. N’utilisez aucun autre type de liquide. N’avalez pas le comprimé en entier. Laissez-le se dissoudre dans votre bouche sans le mâcher. Ne prenez jamais de doses plus élevées que votre médecin vous a prescrit. En cas des allergies saisonnières, la dose recommandée pour les adultes et les enfants de 12 ans ou plus est de 60 mg deux fois par jour ou 180 mg une fois par jour. Les enfants de 6-11 ans doivent prendre 30 mg deux fois par jour. En cas de l'urticaire chronique, les adultes et les enfants de 12 ans ou plus doivent prendre 60 mg deux fois par jour, et les enfants de 6-11 ans doivent prendre 30 mg deux fois par jour.
Précautions
Informez votre médecin de tous les médicaments que vous utilisez. Cela inclut les médicaments sur ordonnance, en vente libre, des vitamines et des produits à base de plantes. Évitez d'utiliser des antiacides 15 minutes avant ou après la prise du médicament, de boire du jus de fruits (pomme, orange, pamplemousse). Les antiacides et les jus de fruit peuvent rendre difficile pour votre corps d'absorber Allegra. Evitez de prendre d’autres médicaments contre le rhume ou les allergies, sauf si votre médecin vous l'a dit.
Contre-indications
Évitez d'utiliser le médicament si vous avez une réaction allergique à ses composants ou une maladie des reins. Avertissez votre médecin si vous êtes enceinte ou allaitez. N’administrez pas ce médicament à un enfant sans avis médical.
Effets secondaires possibles
Obtenez de l'aide médicale d'urgence si vous avez l'urticaire, de la fièvre, un gonflement du visage, des lèvres, des douleurs corporelles, une difficulté à respirer, la toux. Les effets secondaires d’Allegra moins graves peuvent inclure: les crampes menstruelles, des douleurs musculaires, une diarrhée, une somnolence, des maux de dos, des maux d'estomac, des nausées. Arrêtez de prendre Allegra et appelez votre médecin si vous ressentez l'un d'eux.
Interaction des médicaments
Informez votre médecin de tous les médicaments que vous utilisez, notamment de l'érythromycine ou du kétoconazole. Avant de prendre ce médicament, parlez à votre médecin si vous utilisez régulièrement d'autres médicaments qui vous rendent somnolent (sédatifs, somnifères, relaxants musculaires, médicaments contre les allergies).
Omission de dose
Prenez la dose oubliée dès que possible. Sautez-la s'il est temps pour votre prochaine dose. Ne prenez pas de doses supplémentaires pour compenser la dose oubliée.
Surdosage
Si vous pensez que vous avez une surdose du médicament, cherchez de l’aide médicale d'urgence immédiatement. Les symptômes de surdosage sont la sécheresse buccale, des vertiges ou une somnolence.
Conservation
Conservez le médicament à la température ambiante entre 68-77 degrés F (20-25 degrés C) à l’abri de la lumière et de l'humidité. Ne conservez pas les médicaments dans la salle de bain. Conservez tous les médicaments hors de portée des enfants et des animaux domestiques.
