L'ampicilline appartient au groupe des aminopénicillines. Il s'agit d'un antibiotique à spectre élargi. Le médicament peut être prescrit pour le traitement de la pneumonie et d’autres maladies infectieuses des systèmes respiratoire, génito-urinaire, gastrointestinal. Il a l’effet antibactérien inhibant la construction des parois cellulaires bactériennes. L'ampicilline est facilement absorbée, elle n'est pas détruite dans l'estomac. Le médicament peut lutter contre salmonelle, schigella, Proteus, E. coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, autrefois appelé bacille de Pfeiffer.
Posologie
Il est recommandé de prendre le médicament selon l’ordonnance de votre médecin. Administrez-le avec un verre d’eau plein une heure et demie avant ou deux heures après le repas.
Précautions
Avant de commencer votre traitement avec de l'ampicilline avisez votre médecin si vous êtes allergique à la pénicilline ou aux céphalosporines, si vous avez de la diarrhée. Le médicament peut entraîner des résultats faussement positifs de certains analyses d'urine.
Contre-indications
Les patients ayant l’hypersensibilité à l'ampicilline et l'insuffisance hépatique, l’asthme, le rhume des foins devraient être prudent en utilisant ce médicament.
Effets secondaires possibles
Effets secondaires peuvent être les suivants: diarrhée, fièvre, démangeaisons, nausées, éruptions cutanées, colite, glossalgie ou une bouche douloureuse, des vomissements.
Intéraction des médicaments
L'ampicilline peut interagir avec les contraceptifs oraux et les médicaments pour la coagulation sanguine.
Omission de dose
Prenez la dose oubliée dès que possible et si vous la prenez deux fois par jour, prenez la prochaine dose 5-6 heures plus tard. Si vous administrez le médicament trois fois par jour, prenez la dose omise dès que vous vous en souvenez et la suivante dans 2-4 heures. Ne dépassez jamais votre dose.
Surdosage
Si vous soupçonnez une surdose veuillez obtenir immédiatement des soins médicaux d'urgence. Les symptômes de surdosage sont des manifestations allergiques notamment l'urticaire et les éruptions cutanées.
Conservation
Conservez le médicament à température de la pièce entre 59-86 F (15-305 C), hors de la lumière et de l'humidité.
