Fluoxetine (fluoxétine) est un antidépresseur. Elle agit en rétablissant l'équilibre de sérotonine qui permet d’améliorer l'humeur. Elle peut être co-administrée avec d'autres médicaments pour traiter la dépression causée par les troubles bipolaires.
Posologie
Il est recommandé de prendre le médicament suivant la prescription de votre médecin. Prenez-le avec des aliments ou du lait. Consultez votre médecin au sujet de la dose appropriée selon votre cas. N’excédez pas la dose recommandée.
Précautions
Avant de commencer votre traitement à la fluoxétine, veuillez informer votre médecin de tous vos états de santé, et en particulier concernant les maladies rénales, les problèmes de foie, des convulsions, le diabète, les problèmes cardiaques, les allergies aux médicaments. Les personnes d’âge moyen peuvent être plus sensibles à la fluoxétine. Les femmes enceintes et qui allaitent au sein ne devraient pas l'utiliser.
Contre-indications
Les patients présentant une hypersensibilité à ce médicament et prenant des inhibiteurs de la MAO doivent éviter de l'utiliser.
Effets secondaires possibles
Les effets secondaires peuvent être les suivant: l'apparition de cloques, de desquamation, et une éruption cutanée rouge; des nausées, des vomissements, de la diarrhée, une perte d'appétit, une perte d'équilibre, une perte de coordination; des muscles très raides, une forte fièvre, des sueurs, un pouls rapide ou irrégulier, des tremblements, une exagération des réflexes, des maux de tête, des difficultés de concentration, des problèmes de mémoire, une faiblesse, de l’obnubilation, des hallucinations, des évanouissements, des convulsions, une respiration superficielle ou un arrêt de respiration, les symptômes du rhume tels que le nez bouché, des éternuements, des maux de gorge, de la somnolence, des vertiges, de la nervosité, des maux d'estomac, la constipation; une augmentation d'appétit, des changements de poids, des troubles de sommeil, une diminution de la libido, l’impuissance, ou une difficulté d’obtention d’orgasme, une siccité de la bouche.
Interaction des médicaments
La fluoxétine peut avoir une interaction avec les médicaments suivants: l’alprazolam; la clozapine; le flécaïnide; l’halopéridol; les médicaments contre les accès tels que la phénytoïne ou la carbamazépine; le tryptophane; la vinblastine; des anti-coagulants tels que la warfarine; l’almotriptan, le frovatriptan, le sumatriptan, le naratriptan, le rizatriptan, le zolmitriptan; des antidépresseurs tels que l'amitriptyline, l'escitalopram, l'imipramine, la sertraline, et d'autres.
Omission de dose
Prenez la dose omise dès que possible. S'il est presque l’heure de la prochaine prise, il suffit de sauter la dose omise et de revenir à votre horaire habituel.
Surdosage
Si vous pensez avoir pris une surdose du médicament, demandez une aide médicale d'urgence immédiatement. Les symptômes de surdosage sont des vomissements, des nausées, de la fièvre, un pouls rapide ou irrégulier, de la somnolence, de l’obnubilation, des convulsions, des évanouissements ou un coma.
Conservation
Conservez le médicament à la température ambiante entre 20-25 °C (68-77 °F).
