Acyclovir ne traite pas l'herpès, mais il peut diminuer les symptômes de l'infection. Il est utilisé pour traiter les infections causées par des virus de l'herpès. Les maladies causées par des virus de l'herpès incluent l'herpès génital, l’herpès labial, le zona, et la varicelle.
Posologie
Prenez chaque dose de façon régulière, de 2 à 5 fois par jour avec un verre plein d'eau, avec ou sans nourriture. Agitez bien la suspension orale (liquide) juste avant de vous mesurer une dose. Pour être sûr que vous obtenez la dose correcte, mesurer le liquide avec une cuillère-mesure marquée ou une tasse graduée.
Précautions
Informez votre médecin si vous êtes sensible aux allergies, si vous avez une maladie rénale ou si vous êtes enceinte. Aussi informez-le de tous les médicaments que vous prenez.
Contre-indications
La contre-indication est une allergie à l'acyclovir ou au valacyclovir.
Effets secondaires possibles

Omission de dose
Prenez la dose oubliée dès que possible. Sautez-la s'il est temps pour votre prochaine dose. Ne prenez pas de doses supplémentaires pour compenser la dose oubliée.
Surdosage
Si vous pensez que vous avez une surdose du médicament cherchez de l’aide médicale d'urgence immédiatement. Les symptômes du surdosage peuvent inclure des convulsions et des délires.
Conservation
Conservez le médicament à température ambiante entre 15 ° C à 25 ° C (59 ° F à 77 ° F). Conservez-le à l'écart de l'humidité et dela lumière. Gardez-le hors de portée des enfants et loin des animaux domestiques.
